Official Team Thread Gold City Royals Season 22 - Congrats FP32

Preliminary Final



In their 10th match of the round, the Royals took on the Bears in their maiden Preliminary Final. In the end the eventual premiers were too good on the day, as the Royals fell short by 2 points. Leading by 18 points at half time, it looked as if the fairy tale would continue, but the wheels fell off mid way through the third quarter. BigJoeD_ was prolific and nearly dragged the Royals over the line. Unfortunately the captain Blacky had other idea, going kickless after being dragged at the 10 min mark and not seeing the field again. Bipolarbear had a chance to be a hero, but unfortunately was kicking into the wind on tired legs.

It was heartbreak in the end, but the season has given the Royals a lot to be excited about going forward.

For those counting at home, I am sure the winner is no surprise as they won in such emphatic fashion

I actually had to count the votes twice, because I thought it was going to be closer than this...
