he will probably play more of a wing role this year i think. he struggled in the backline last season.
with the new recruits coming in, this should move him up the ground a bit more..
the one im really looking at a good backman this year is brennan.
he should play more forward and is killing it in the preseason sessions.
hes normally good for around a 99avg in a reasonable year.
thats pretty good for a backman.. with dids not being a backman this year we will probably
struggle to find good backman next year

Brennan and McKenzie both wildcards for that defensive spot.

McKenzie averaged 70 last year in DT, despite having quite a few sub affected games and having no pre-season whatsoever.

This year he'll play full games unless injured and will have done about 80% of the pre-season, along with moving more into the middle I think.

Cheers, hoping he does go on a wing is a weapon for gc when he has the ball (also helps scores) and he has the 3rd year breakout to possibly go through. No preseason last year? impressive turnaround from here. Near lock for me with this barring injury and Nab form of Brennan. Good year for mid-pricers

agree brennan has the potential to be a good pick.

interested in any thoughts on rischitelli. he had a very impressive 2011, and is somewhat underpriced now due to carrying an injury through 2012.

obviously he will need to be fit to be picked 1st, but do suns supporters see a fully fit rischitelli as part of their best midfield rotation? or will he make way in order to develop the young guns of swallow, bennell, prestia,o'meara

Has never been elite DT-wise and from an outsiders view don't see him improving enough to average 100.

but like last year most elite backman werent avg 100.. i think the only person to avg high 120 was deledio then it was between shaw and goddard who just scraped through to avg 100.
if brennan stays away from the backline and plays more of a forward roll while helping out in the midfield he should deff avg close to 100 which for a backman is near elite. for his price i think it will be a good smokey!

id stay clear of mckenzie.. he hasnt shown he can push much higher than an avg of 80 odd..
brent staker is another one i am looking at, also luke ball

Good idea to consider Rischitelli. If he's fit, he'll be playing every game and spending serious minutes in the midfield. Heck, he played most games for us this year even on one leg!

I'd back him in if he's fit to play. Still only mid 20s and when fit, adds so much to our clearance power. Also a senior member of our leadership group.

In 2011, he was one of the most consistent Suns. Very rarely scored above 100, but also rarely scored below 95. Could bank on him to score that well every week, which is hopefully something he can return to in 2013.

He's hoping to be joining the main group by mid January. Like everyone, keep an eye on him in the NAB Cup. :)

I was talking about Rischitelli, Brennan is a tempting one.

Bennell is almost certainly going into my team. Really big fan of his, and I think he might score pretty heavily this year. Will wait until I see a bit of the preseason games before I make any major decisions though.

Hey guys and sunny
Currently im going with a very cheap ruck set up
Leunberger
and......
Zac Smith!!!

Can he become good enough to be keeper or will he price rise enough (currently 300k-ish) to swing Cox from my FWD into the ruck and trade him for a fwd premium so 450+ by around round 8-13???

gorringe will take time away from his ability to turn it into good scores

I will definately be going Ablett, Bennell, O'Meara and Broughton. Bock will be very tempting though and should be at a 30% discount. Lonnergan is highly rated as AFL ready from the DT Talk guys.

Bock only got 10% unfortunately.

Ablett, Yeager, Broughton, Gorringe, Lonergan, Swallow, Stanley are all players I will strongly consider. Maybe the Horse also pending nab cup form.

Scored 73 on debut, don't think scoring will be an issue. However agree he will find it difficult to break in. In any case I don't he's rookie priced.

I was wondering about Charlie Dixon, the young forward? I have O'Meara and Broughton as locks and probably Gazza but I was wondering about if Dixon was to do anything for Super Coach this year? Will he be a genius pick or just don't worry about him?
