Previous record for a Brissie v South Coast was 47,000 in 1995 @ QEII Stadium.

New record @ Lang Park, 2007 will be.. ??
or wont it?

[edit] correction: record can't be beaten..ever. 55,500 attended in 1995 (including me!).

45,000 IMO.

Why isn't this game on a sunday??? Doesn't give Gold Coast fans time to travel to Brisbane:mad: .

A few things:

A) The train takes an hour from Robina, which is practically a door to door service if you get off at Milton.
B) No one in Queensland actually stays at work beyond 4:30pm.

These type of games are always overhyped in terms of crowd figures. Around 40 000 would be my guess.
If the figures are right, in round 1, the Broncos v Cowboys match got 50,000 and the Titans v Dragons match 42,000. I can't see the crowd being smaller than the Titans first match given that it is at Brisbane's home ground.

45,000 is the bare minimum I would say. It would have to piss down with rain in the next two hours (which it doesn't look like) for the crowd to be less than 45K.

47,686 BRILLANT! Panthers got just under 19K tonight.

Both grounds were well over 90% full :thumbsu:.

Just got back from the game.

I've got to admit when the 47,686 figure came up on the board, I was very surprised the attendance was that high.

From my vantage point - section 718, the top tier section had a scattering of empty seats across the top 2-3 rows of the tier, as well as the occasional empty seat scattered around the ground - mostly in the members.

TBH, going by games I've attended at Suncorp in the past, it looked more like a 43-44,000 strong crowd, not a near on 48,000 crowd.

Just a few points to make on the game;

a) The Titans supporters easily outnumbered the Broncos at least 2 to 1 in the crowd – having said that, a large percentage were more interested in picking up then watching a good game of league it must be said
b) Whoever did the PA for the Titans was terrible and needs to be replaced immediately, the PA starting a defence/Titans chant is gey
c) The Titans passed the ball wider and played a more attractive style of league IMO, if the Broncos aren’t careful the season could be over before they get over their premiership hangover

Hawkk, you are kidding me right?
If I heard that de-fence chant at an AFL or NRL game, I would be physically ill.
Please tell me you're taking the piss?

Titans have brought some good looking girls back to the game!

Was a great atmosphere... The corporates were fully booked, and the only seats i saw were the extreme upper tiers at the goal post end. Thought 47,000 was a fair indication.

The titans PA is terrible!
