I have it on very good authority from a guy that looks like a guy that works at the guardian that Ultima superstar Brett Atkin is returning to Donald, citing irreconcilable differences with certain members of the Ultima senior team. He's going to be a big loss for the roos.

was talking to brett today and i quote "the clearence is in progress" bit scary for the roo boys?

glen, at your age you would have seen an enormous amount of football and BBQ's, therefore l would value your opinion on this matter.

Pecker, my opinion is that im probably the best BBQ chef in the GRFL. But on the O'Toole issue, its good to see the young fella have a run around in the midfield, enormous talent and being stuck in the forward 50 doesnt allow him develop an all round game... Expect big things when he is up forward though

2 games in what have we learn't so far in the GRFL? I'm not sure real much...
Ultima: Haven't come up against anything yet (Hay minus 7 players does not count)
Quamby: Ditto
Nully: Look at Saturday's game at 3/4 time. They're not a great team yet (and yes R.C is playing in the 1's.
Wakool: Wandella first up maybe a little rusty.
Any other observations anyone?

The only senior player Hay had missing was Billy Auldist, and I agree he is a big loss. Seven players missing? A little research before posting crap please.

Quamby has beaten a highly rated Moulamien and a very improved Macorna. Once again, you have no idea.

Nully almost beat the reigning premiers (lost by 1 point) then thumped Moula who has recruited very well. Seems to me they are going alright.

Wakool had a very pleasing win over Wandella, one that I imagine they havnt had in quite a few years. To me it is shaping up as a very even year in the GRFL. To you it seems that no-one has performed yet.

What do we all think about young Lachlan O'Toole making the move into the midfield on the weekend? Whose footsteps will he follow in, Matt or Luke?

You should not be concerned with his form in the midfield, you should be more concerned with his plans to lodge a clearance after this weekends round to play with matt at golden square. I heard this directly from lachies mounth today

i speak the truth marcus delmenico and himself are growing tired of the weekly trips home for little reward

little rewards? what is more rewarding then playing with good mates, some of which went all the way through juniors with, and winning.

word on the street is that tony 'darky' parsons is set for a big season at quambatook thus proven by darky bidding on himself well into the $300 dollar price range in quambatook fc player calcutta it was also heard that darky outbidded his own top bid 3 times in a row congradgulations mate

There seem to be a lot of very touchy Ultima people on this thread....;)

The Ultima people on this thread are very touchy Tripod. Some of these rumours must be true for them to be getting so defensive about them. Maybe they realise if they lose any of the players mentioned they will be no good.

Champ weren't you the guy having a crack at people for name guessing at the beginning of April and now your describing someone who you think is Clifton's Lookalike? You should be the one to get your facts right before you accuse people of s h i t you w a n k e r. I know who Clifton's Lookalike is and he is none of the things you have mentioned in that description. You must be a heck i n hero where your from mate. You say your a GRFL supporter but you are quick to defend the little roos!

Well done, nothing further from the truth and the truth does hurt.

Your on the money here happydayz. Ultima at the moment will not be flash. Lets face the facts, they have gotten over the line against a side that lost to Quamby (no disrespect Dima) and beaten a side which was "missing" a lot of their senior players. From the replys also there seems to be a little bit of concern creeping into the roo boys!

well glen, they are 3 very different players and lachie has just shown that he can play on the ball if needed but i think you will find he will slot back into full foward this weekend against the bombers... ready to kick a bag

I think he should. must be down on confidence after that flogging he received from Jayden Beriman on the weekend. He was kept to 2 touches and you Ultima lads still pump him up........pretty sad.

Jimmyboy, I'll do the research for ya...
Hay players missing -- Bill Audist, Tom Heggaton (Northen Bombers ruckman), Tom Stevens (onballer recruit), Mick Howard (you know), Joel Griffiths (probably Hay's best player so far--smashed Harvey the week before), Curtis Biggs (flanker). But, a win goes down as four points on the ladder, nobody remembers who plays with who. you boys will go okay.

Quamby has beaten a highly rated Moulamien and a very improved Macorna. Once again, you have no idea.

Tend to agree, but their big test will come this weekend. Have a chance to really prove a point and go 3-0

Nully almost beat the reigning premiers (lost by 1 point) then thumped Moula who has recruited very well. Seems to me they are going alright.

Yeah, they will be there come September. bode is important for them still...

Wakool had a very pleasing win over Wandella, one that I imagine they havnt had in quite a few years. To me it is shaping up as a very even year in the GRFL. To you it seems that no-one has performed yet.

Wakool will challenge anybody. Hay's early win over them could be more valuable than they first thought....especially after they smashed Wandella...

Tips for this weekend fellas??

Mine are -- Wandella, Hay, Nullawil, Murrabit

Wandella in a close one at home, over the roos

Hay should get over the line against Quamby. Depends on who is "Missing"

Nulliwal comfortably over Macorna

Murrabit easily over Moula. But anything is possible. Moula kept with Nulli for most of the game last week, so it will be interesting to see how they start on Saturday.

Good luck

i think you'll notice that we werent actually pumping him up, i merely posed the question and DOCKERS mentioned that he has shown that he can play on the ball, didnt say that he dominated or pumped him up in any way, shape or form. i actually noticed more than two touches but hey mate your entitled to your opinion.

Indeed I am, like we all are. All I am saying is, and I think deep down Jimmyboy will know, is that given Ultima's structure at the moment they need O'Toole up forward. It was worth the try but to no avail. and come on, you were pumping him up, granted the guy is talented, but maybe you guys should start your own Ultima thread........it is getting a little repetative...there is 7 other teams in the GRFL you know...nothing personal guys

couldn't agree more iamfooty, the ultima guys on this thread blowing wind up their own bums are only setting themselves up for a bagging if they don't deliver. perhaps a little more modesty wouldn't go astray.
my tips this week, ultima, hay, murrabit and nully.

Good to see some people actually starting to write something cronstructive on here about football. Thanks iamfooty, good to know actually who was missing..
My tips, for this round
Ultima over Wandella- although wandella performed well over the night series i think the other teams have caught up
Hay to beat Qaumby- will see this win loss, win loss a lot this year with hay. Is it true that quamby suffered injuries to key players??
Nullawil to beat Macorna- Macorna didnt trouble quambatook so cant see them geting close to nullawil
Moulamein to upset Murrabit- murrabit only just beat null, and moul stayed with Null till 3/4 time, could be the year for murrabit to unrail..
look forward to some feedback

From reports Quamby will be missing a couple of their taller brigade (Marcus and Daniel Demaria to name a few)

Match of the round. My gut says Wandella but head says
Ultima: 2 wins is 2 wins. A win on Sat and they're 1/4 way to finals.
Hay: +6 or 7 players at home.
Nully: by 8 goals
Royal Blues: Write them off Catter at your own peril. Do like your attempt at a roughy for the round though.
