We have to ride or die with the big three. The two timelines can get in the bin.

GSW -
Poole to Toronto
26 FRP (top 10 protected) to Toronto
Kuminga to Utah

Toronto -
Anunoby to GSW

Utah -
Olynk to GSW
2023 FRP (via Minnesota) to Toronto

Dubs get two contributors
Toronto re-set around youth
Jazz get a young stud who will get the floor time he needs

We save $4m in salary in trades, Dray signs a team friendly 3/60 saving another $7m, Donte declines his $4.7m option. Klay becomes highest paid 6 man in history.

We roll with -

Stef/GP2/vet min
OG/Klay
Wiggins/Moody
Dray/Olynk/PBJ
Looney/Dray/Olynk

We get better across the board - have a killer defensive 1-2 punch in Wiggs and OG, improved shooting, finally land a stretchy big, and have some genuine talent on the bench.

A small ball death line-up of Stef, Klay, OG, Wiggins and Dray would murderise teams.

Lakers being swept shows how far away we were this year.

Shit regular season.
Sneak past Kings in 7 thanks to an all time game by Steph.
Beaten comfortably by the Lakers
Who got swept in the next round.

Work to do.

I think something big will happen.

How long does Steph have left?

We need a C who can play both ends (Turner/Siakim) and role/bench players who can score with min mins.

Teams who would love a scoring PG/SG (Poole) - Charlotte, Detroit, Orlando, Toronto, San Antonio, Utah
Teams in rebuild/tank mode - Toronto, Brooklyn

Would Pacers take Poole/GPIII for Myles?

After the season Poole had he just couldn't be kept on that kind of money. Moving o. His contract can give us some flexibility in coming years.

Paul can be very handy if he plays a few less minutes and can stay fit in the playoffs.

With the rest of the west improving, we needed to adjust.

Yeah, it's an adjustment but I'll come around to Paul. Will be nice to see the starting unit's hard work not evaporate in seconds. Great news for Kuminga if we keep him.

Looks like Donte is off too, so that's a hell of a lot of minutes to fill.

Do we still have a taxpayer MLE this year or just vet mins from here on in?

Interested to see it works.

Dubs love to play fast/manic

Paul loves to slow the play down to his speed and pin point the pass.
To me its a sure fire sign that GSW want to play a bit of small ball with Wiggins at PF

The move of Poole to me opens the floor for Kuminga/Payton to play bigger minutes. With Kuminga still at the club, GSW simply MUST throw minutes at the guy. He is and will outperform anyone they can get from here so its time to do it. I honestly see GSW rolling with

Steph
Payton
Klay
Wiggins
Green

CP3 still plays the 20-30 minutes by taking Stephs minutes early on and then in the 4th having Steph move to SG with CP3 more of the PG. Aftter that I think we will see Kuminga and Looney getting 20 minutes each. Moody next cab of the bench and then the younger guys playing 10-15 for the most part after that. With the MLE they probably just need a SF/PF tweener type. A guy like Jae Crowder may get zero offers and come to GSW on that type of deal I think

I dont think the move makes Warriors weaker or stronger as CP3 and Poole hold the same weaknesses in defense. All up its just a cost saving move and I suppose one they simply had to make for financial reasons.

Poole, Donte, Jerome and presumably JMG gone...that's 70 minutes out the door.

CP3 takes hopefully no more than 25. Moody and JK pick up a few more each. Still need a third string guard, and a big or two.

Not much left on the scrap heap.

Payton and CP3 will take the minutes for the guards. Pretty easy swap. Moody will get the last handful of minutes at guard (covering injuries etc).

Some random big man will take JMGs minutes.

Still no FA signings which is unbelievable

Suns, Lakers all got better with no cap space
Not really unbelievable.

We're no sure thing for ring chasers, have the highest state taxes and one of the most expensive cities to live in.

We're usually fighting for the scraps. We didn't sign JMG last year until late July.

Suns obviously got better. Gordon is exactly the sort of player they needed. Lakers aren't better...it's basically Vincent in Walker and Schroeder out.

Edit: Corey Jospeh signed as I type...meh.

Vincent, Reddish Price and Hayes are an upgrade over Schroeder, Beasley, Walker, Bamba

Add the fact they managed to keep Russel, Reaves and Rui means they win FA hands down

Suns add Beal (Trade), Bates-Diop, Watanabe, Metu and Eubanks all on Vet Mins then added Gordon plus re signed Lee and Okogie for cheap
They only lost CP3 and Landale

People always laud the Lakers moves prematurely though...it happened last year, and the year before.

Reddish and Hayes are terrible, they don't move the needle at all. Prince and Vincent are solid depth, but certainly not an upgrade en masse compared to the outgoings.

Reaves and Rui are the same players they were last season, just more expensive. I think they were good value signings, but they don't add anything new. Russel was all but unplayable in the post season.

The Suns have killed FA given what they had to work with. I wanted Bates Diop and Watanabe for the Dubs.

Lakers have brought in tradable players other teams would take on which is why they did well

Kyrie maybe available later on so a few of those signings might attract Mavs

A smart player and/or agent would sign for a 1 yr minimum contract with the Warriors.

As long as you show your ability you will get fair bigger contract when you leave.

Otto, GP, Lee, DV, McGee etc

Never seen the Warriors miss out on these Vet Min options ever which is concerning

If Saric signs elsewhere than the Warriors are in strife

We've missed out regularly on vet mins in recent years...San Fran is not a desirable home base for many.

That said, Joseph and Saric are solid additions, both ballers and high IQ. Would still like a big rim protector, but good bigs aren't lining up for 8-10 minutes a game.

I'm excited to see some new rotations.
