Review Good, bad, the gallant shat loss - R4 vs Melbourne 2024

If we gonna lose anyway I'd rather lose playing fast footy through the corridor than this slow chip and switch game that goes no where and results in a 3 goal loss all the time.

Keane was excellent shame that no one ahead of him has more than 3 brain cells so he's constantly called into action.

Going inside 50 was the most painful thing to watch, it was straight up bad!

You simply cannot discourage that type of behaviour from one of your youngsters even if the outcome wasn't the best..
agree. he's going to win more games for us doing that than losing them

Good:

Keane - We can finally delist one of Borlase/Butts (keep one for break glass) at end of year with Murray to return. Finally found a nice competent KPD.
Soligo - MUST play midfield/CBA for rest of year now. Don't you dare move him to the wing or half forward Nicks you clown.

Nank - Must be now given a proper run of games to settle in and let the kid play with flair and break the lines.

Michelanney - Kozzie got a couple of goals but MM has been one of a very few shining lighst this year. Future captain.

Me - Calling exactly how the game would play out :$

Bad:

Forward entries
Laird
Forward lien as a whole
sh*t game plan
Skills
Umpiring on a few occasions as usual
everything else

Fantasy Sports may not be your go ....but players are analyzed meticulously for trends, and role changes

Thought you may want a perspective from them

I think the people arguing for Rankine’s value miss the point somewhat; the issue isn’t whether he’s good, or even how good, and it’s not trying to put a value on that.

The issue is that he’s a luxury player, in a team that lacks some of the basics

A team that can’t pay the rent shouldn’t be going out and buying caviar

AFC Trend: Play every promising young player half forward.

Nank attended one centre bounce last year..

Grabbed the ball after the ruck tap… broke through a tackler, handballed to ROB and received it back in a 1/2, streamed away from the middle with it and passed it lace out to one of our forwards.

And was dropped the very next week and has only just last night been recalled into the AFL side..
and he was one of our better players last night.

without injuries to milera and that unflushable turd murphy…. Nank wouldnt have played last night.

Let that sink in.

That analogy may work for a household budget but we have a team chock full of spuds and a salary cap that has a “minimum spend” setting..

We have to blow some money on caviar to meet that minimum spend.. and we’ve had nothing else worthy of spending it on for a few years now!

Especially when you’ve had caviar the night before.

Yeah but we used pick 5

I think it was agan poor list management at trade time. Recall that we gave up pick 5 for Rankine very early in the piece. Now in that same trade period GC offered up pick 7 as a salary dump to take Bowes. An insane pick for a salary dump that 3/4 of the league clubs were chasing and geelong won when bowes committed to them..

To me the obvious deal would to have been to say to GC here is pick 5 but we want pick 7 back and for your salary dump we will give the winning club our f1. There would not have been any doubt that a club would have bitten their arm off for tgat deal just as they did for pick 7, remembering in 2022 we finished bottom 5 so our f1 was likely a top 10 pick anyway.

I have a strong feeling had it been port in our position, they would have pulled off such a trade. Then with pick 7 we could have got Phillipou as well as rankine...at the opportunity cost of missing Curtin

Yeah, that makes no sense.

The conversation was pick 5 on a luxury player at the expense if team building where it’s needed

You’ve gotten confused about the salary cap

How's DeGoeys ownership this year?
