Stengle demonstrated why he's just as much an AFL player as Murphy is, doesn't have the work rate or desire.

There has been way too much excitement around Stengle. He is an average player but like you say better than Murphy.

Why are people now only realising Frampton isn't up to it? He was basically given away for nothing by an average team. Of course he is not good enough. Having said that we have nothing else so I am happy to play him.

We are a better team without Tex as well.

Worst season would be Fitzroy’s one win season - 1995 was it? We will be lucky to match it at the current rate. Every team thus far has shown “something” (well, perhaps not the Dees, but the rest). Saints after a woeful effort today will towel us up.
Saints are generally putrid away from Marvel and have a shocking record at AO, I actually think this will be our best chance for a win outside of maybe Carlton and Melbourne.

McPherson, Jones, McAdam, Hamill, McAsey all looked good.

DMac - why bother?

Because the age-old AFC thinking is that we have senior players that in tough times will bring a stability and cool playing skill to the embattled team. Thus MacKay. Don't ask me why we have this myopic thing about fringe type players that we hang onto and keep trying with for years. It's how we roll. It's a thinking not dissimilar to the 'boys club'.

Interesting little stat for all those playing at home.

Rounds 1-5 Tex Walker has had 2 contested marks as our key forward.

Round 6 Fisher McAsey had 2 contested marks. In his first game as a FWD, playing on the AFLs best interceptor.

Might be worth persevering with
I don't know if they also count aerial contests where you are NOT outmarked by your direct opponent but he also had more of those in one game than Tex has all year (and last).

I liked McAdam's game. Not because he was particularly prolific in his play, hard to be given the service. No, because he chased, that pressure he put on the kicker coming out of our forward line. It was a great effort in a side getting flogged. McAdam is 181 cm, has reasonable foot speed, and a great leap, plenty of weapons.

The players that don't put in over the course of this season, except in the case of injury, can easily be confirmed as downhill skiers.

Runs in treacle. Shows little contest intensity.
His intoverted nature is a bit of a concern. They are generally the ones who leave like Gunston. Hopefully he starts enjoying himself once some of the seniors are moved out and he has a young group around him where he is invested.

McAdam, Jones, McHenry and McPherson showed more aggression at the opponent and/or contest than 150+ game players.

100% agree. There was a switch in the last Q when it went to Talia and Kelly 2 on 1. Talia marked, then Kelly ran sideways to the boundary, Talia slowly went back the sideways to Kelly who went back for a long down the line kick.

Seriously, run forward and play on FFS

If Ablett, Selwood and Dangerfield are Geelong’s holy trinity, then Kelly, Talia and Hartigan kicking to each other across the defensive 50 is our unholy trinity

I would be delighted if both Crouches left the club. At an absolute pinch keep Brad for a year. Matt drives me insane with slow decisions and ball use. Then when he decides to kick its down the line and lobby. FMD It stands out so badly now we have no support.
