I dont have a problem with winning the spoon - I just hate the fact we will go winless. That is worse than any Cartlon, Dees, Gold Coast or Fitzroy team...just think about it...

I agree, thought same at half time, for the first time this year. Good signs, good running/overlap, speedy play-on, but ruined by poor skills.First game I can see a plan or style. Attacking handball, tackling chasing pressure with intent...
Worst season would be Fitzroy’s one win season - 1995 was it? We will be lucky to match it at the current rate. Every team thus far has shown “something” (well, perhaps not the Dees, but the rest). Saints after a woeful effort today will towel us up.
They won 2 that year, Hawks and us in the last round which cost us a home final. Doesn't get much more Crows than that.Freo 1-21 in 2001 I reckon is the worst.
Unfair on O'Brien. Beaten in the ruck by phoneman, but how many aren't? O'Brien killed him around the ground and outmarked him one on one twice at least. 19 possessions and no way were his marks all junk time.
Liked Jones 1st half. Classy player and once he gets a bit more muscle on, builds his tank and 50 games under his belt, he will be hard to stop. Such good tackles for a bloke his size and weight.
We love to make things difficult and learn the hard way. Nicks might be influenced from our clueless football director or he doesn't have a clue. We need a strategist in the box that knows their shit to help him. Not sure he was the coach we needed. Time will tell but we definitely need a complete cleanout of assistants. This is the year to do it while there is quality out of a job. They better be working on it now.I don't get it. Jones started the game on fire then spent the rest of the match on the wing or in the forward line.
The change happened as soon as Matt Crouch came on the ground in the first after starting on the bench.
It doesn't take a genius to know Jones needs to play the entire match in the middle
Mackay. Here is your notice. Get the **** out. It's simple, everyone had a pass mark except for 3 who should be dropped
Matt Crouch - useless, if I was coach those 2-3 spirit stripping turnovers in the 3rd equals a month in the seconds. With the stupidity of the stat gathering across the body kick from the sideline, it was a terrible example for the younger players and exactly what Greenwood was referring to, stats over effectiveness. Back for a month at least, who cares about stats, judge him on kicks, metres gained and score involvement only
Laird - shifted forward and continued to be useless. We have Macpherson to take his spot now, Brown down back, Hamill and Smith providing run. Thanks Laird, go and find out how to be effective as a HF or HB in the 2nds
Sloane - shell of his former self, clearly injured, a liability.
On notice - Mackay
why not ask. Others have done it for years. So do we get to ask for a priority draft pick if we don't win a game this year? LOL, just joking, AFL would never do that for us.
They won 2 that year, Hawks and us in the last round which cost us a home final. Doesn't get much more Crows than that.
Keays did an underrated job on Gaff. Kept him to just 12 touches with something like 6 at 3QT
For a player that routinely destroys us, we finally decide to tag him and it works
And Smithers.Agree. I’d add Keays to the good list
At times like this, I wish I was still a heavy drinker.yeah, I reckon I might have suppressed the memory of that Crows v Freo game.
Mackay was MacMEH.Mackay had a very typical Mackay game. No more, no less. Brushed off it a few times 1 good kick followed by several bad ones. Lots of hospital handballs, the usual.
So let's establish the baseline
Chayce Jones - 11 disposals (82% DE), 1 goal, 2 clearances, 87 meters gained, 2 score involvements, 5 contested, 15 pressure acts, 1 turnover
Now for the senior midfield
Matt Crouch - 29 disposals (69% DE), 0 goals, 3 clearances, 449 meters gained, 2 score involvements, 10 contested, 13 pressure acts, 7 turnovers
Brad Crouch - 23 disposals (70% DE), 0 goals, 5 clearances, 304 meters gained, 2 score involvements, 9 contested, 9 pressure acts, 6 turnovers
Rory Sloane - 18 disposals (78% DE), 1 goal, 2 clearances, 163 meters gained, 1 score involvement, 4 contested, 11 pressure acts, 3 turnovers
Brodie Smith - 31 disposals (71% DE), 1 goal, 1 clearance, 662 meters gained, 4 score involvements, 7 contested, 8 pressure acts, 6 turnovers
David Mackay - 16 disposals (68% DE), 0 goals, 1 clearance, 186 meters gained, 3 score involvements, 7 contested, 12 pressure acts, 3 turnovers
---
Aside from Brodie Smith, Jones once again provides a similar impact on the game to our senior mids from half the touches
McAsey - Fergus Watts MK2?
Nah, Jones is probably the fittest player on our list. Has been top 5 in the time trials from the moment he's entered the list, pretty sure he won it this year too.
Really just needs more inside minutes and for us to break up the Crouch-Crouch partnership.
... then kicked straight to WCE player .McHenry was quiet, but that dance step in the 2nd was damn class.
Uhh, what?
You may be right and hope you are. My take on it was that he was moved out of the midfield because he was out of petrol. Maybe that wasn't the case. He was very good in the 1st half, but didn't notice him much in the 2nd and figured that was stamina.
