Thank you afl for bending us over with the draw and giving us such a tough start to the season. We simply couldn't afford to loose this game but we did. Umpiring was terrible but no excuses for not kicking a goal in the third quarter. Again too many passengers breust tried hard but went missing dropped a sitter in front if goal. Osbourne - did you even play? Hale can't play four quarters, along with several others. The way we gave up in the last quarter was very very disturbing. We cannot win the flag this year on todays performance.

We have three options:
(A) Chip the ball sideways or backwards
(B) Boot the ball to a contest (or an opposition player)
(C) Hand ball to a fat footed player who is about to be drilled.


We are in serious trouble, we shouldn't be losing at home to Sydney who whilst smart and tough, shouldn't be getting within 5 goals of our list.

We just honestly went to shit in that second half. What the hell is with our highly loved ball usage game plan just turn out to be turnover king going into forward 50.

Loss of Gibbo critical, coupled with Birch missing, basically stuffed us.
Gibbo was second only to Roughie for BOG until his injury. Changed the game.
Top 4 not shot yet. Will be a very even season.

Yes, disappointing, so long as we adhere to this convoluted game style, we really cannot be considered a genuine flag chance. Clarko, the game just wasn't meant to be this difficult. Change it or you'll be looking for somewhere else to coach in 2013.

The rest were pretty much rubbish.

Agree with this, not shot yet and we will come good as the season gets longer no doubt. Hard to take that second half though, terrible to watch. Slow, crap ball movement and just not enough players running into clear space.

Spoke to by brother at half time (another passoniate Hawks supporter). He said so many players looked tired and questioned if the 18 players around the ball game plan with no one to kick too when we get loose and free was a good one.
I think the resounding answer is No.
Change it up Clarko and do it now. Otherwise we will waste a period when we should have had 3-4.

The 3 teams we played who are undefeated are only that because we wern't good enough to beat them. Time to give the roving forwards the flick and play them in their positions ( Buddy & Roughy ).
