I reckon it would be sad if Browny played out his career with a team of passengers. He deserves better than that.

Any team with the picks & salary cap to get the trade done are going to have list issues.

Geelong 2006 looked worst than this group.
In 2007 they managed to find consistency throughout the game.

Our best is an absolute blinder - refer 3rd quarter of this round. All we need is consistency.

I am just hoping an extra pre season into young legs will mean we can finish games alot better in 09;)

Cousins has to come back via the draft, he could end up anywhere. He will have to come via the PSD if he wants to put a price on his head and I don't think he will be asking for big dollars.

I'd love to see Brown play for us but I just struggle to see it happening. I don't think he is the type that would want to leave, if he was given the contract he was after he would be signed by now.

Its a pity Browny has more brains then to read this crap posted here! The reason hes playing half fit is cos he wants to be out there for you! The reason hes half fit is because of the years he has put his body on the line for your club, no questions asked! If he only took to the field fit for you he would not have played much footy at all. He is one of the most passionate and proud Lions players I have seen and to read this crap from so called supporters if just a joke, cos he owes u nothing! If he leaves you should be thanking him for the memories cos hes been a champion for you, not just in the priemerships years either!

I have read no criticism of the great man around here nor have I heard any at the ground. If there has been around here then I suggest that they have been ignored.
 
Browny is not going anywhere. His history and tie with the Lions is just too strong. Look what he said to Luke when he was thinking of leaving. You don't really believe that a bloke like Browny (and what a champion he is, both off and on the field) would change in his belief. I certainly don't!! I know we are all hurting after last night's loss but don't take out the hurt this way. Jonathon Brown is a Lion through and through and always will be!!
 
I know we're all a little anxious with Browny's contract negotiations but some of the comments around here seem a little knee jerk. Many of our players have been playing with injuries this season, Drummo, Adcock, Browny, Power, Black, not to mention playing largely with 1 ruckman all year. With a little bit of luck next season and some shrew draft picks as wellas more game time into our youngsters we will be a much improved team.

Browny has never struck me as a player playing for the money, the passion he shows after any of the lions players kick a goal should be evidence enough how much he loves this team. He's trying to negotiate the best deal for himself, nothing wrong with that, let's not jump to conclusions, this bloke bleeds maroon blue and gold.
 
Lay off the crack people. Browny ain't going anywhere. All this bullshit stems from people trying to sell newspapers, keep ya watching tele & stir up the topic. It happens every bloody year without fail. I've already seen at least a dozen people here come out with the obligatory "Ash McGrath wants to go home to WA" bullshit. None of them have any clue but the hypothetical keeps them entertained in their ponderings for a bit. The only reason noone says the same thing about Blacky is because they're too scared to risk that the farce that happens every year around this time can be enough to change a players mind if left unchecked & allowed to run rampant, and losing Black would be like a knife through the heart of the club.
That said why do we think the Melbourne AFL journo set write this kind of horseshit.. Nahhhh no vested interest in swaying Browny's mindset down there. They want to see all you faithless goons come out and start prattling shit. They're hoping somewhere amongst it there's the gem that'll speak to Brown enough to say "**** these Brisvegans.. this is too much.. maybe I will go home."

Its purely guesswork, but the language and the way he has framed his comments, it sounds like his thoughts are that he will be a part of the club going forward.
 
I just read the same article and was going to post the same thing. I think he loves the club too much to leave it now, I think he wants to achieve something leading this group.

When Riska kicked the last goal of the 3rd quarter (game actually) after the Brown dish off and they celebrated together, I thought - these guys aren't going anywhere. I wish i was still that confident.

its a pity Brown has to play for a team with no hunger to win.
Browny has been VERY hungry, hence it being a pitty he has had to play for us.
