Hope im not putting you in, but would love to hear your thoughts Roadie, you have had abit to do with both in the past :thumbsu:

Verry diffrent players [ have diffrent attributes], but both do the same thing and that is kick goals, anyone that kicks over 100 goals is worth their weight in gold, at the end of the day both are/were as important as each other for there repected teams. :thumbsu:

Obviously you don't know the man so let me just give you a bit of info about what he has done for this league.
I know the man!!
Here’s a little info on me for you.
3 time GVFL rep and have coached a GVFL side.
I have had a lot to do with these ego fuelled people putting themselves in positions and know them for the arrogant narrow minded people they are.
How many players getting to GV training these days??
Who wants to play for these people who show so much unselfishness in what they do for GVFL???

Still baffles me how he can coach a WAFL side but play games in the GV

Had a bye in the WAFL comp on the weekend and was available and in town. Wasnt noticeable in the game.
Robertson turned the game around as kicked majority of his goals in the last quarter although getting lace out passes from Yze and n Brown. Robertson leads and they hit him. Might have something to do with 10 years of football together.
In saying they were good Swans are beatable and probably question if early goals were kicked in the last quarter by Rochester could have shut out the game BUT good sides find ways to win from loseable positions.

Umpiring was terrible, one of the worst displays i had personally ever seen,

Ummm, I could be wrong ...But hasn't that already happened...:confused:

Both ways the umpiring was terrible... Bowen(the forward if that is his name) up one end and robbo down the other had a rough deal and they are very quick to blow the whistle for holding the ball.... ah well thats life you win some you lose some

how many did eagle kick, cant wait to see the swans vs united game now

Jason Eagle kicked 7 against Seymour.

If you want to keep track of the results you can get them all from the website, including goal kickers and best players, I posted the link below:

Good on you for your fabulous contibution to the league!! I wish I knew who you were so I could personally come and thank you for what you have done for your lifes work. It's thanks to mr Wellman & co that there is still a league to play for. And I think the almighty dollaray play a small part in people not wanting to play for the gv

Was told down at the local milk bar today that Brian Durbidge is in the interleague team...

This means 4 things...

1.He must be washing Peter White's car.

&

2.The Ovens & Murray defenders will get leather poisoning cleaning up the rubbish disposals inside 50 because Brian can't hit a target.

&

3.The GVFL players ears will be burning after the game because if Brian doesn't recieve the ball (regerdless of his positioning) he will spray you!

&

4.Good luck to Jason Eagle and the other GVFL forwards leading onto the B.D finger breakers!

Good work Eel. Funniest post I've read for a while. :thumbsu:

Agreed.

From the clearances section of the GV website, you can figure out the squad after mucking around for a while. All of the interleague players have been transferred to "WorkSafe VCFL Country Championships."

I've said it many times before, the GV website is poor. Some of the league sites are really good, particularly the Mornington Peninsula or Ballarat leagues.

The Shepparton News had both the Under 18 squad and the Senior squad in Thursday's paper along with an article. Cant get much clearer than that.

I see they put it in last night under the news section on the GV website

Who gives a shit about Thursdays paper?? When are the sides normally in the paper for the w'end?? Thursday?? Anyways who won or doesnt anybody really give a shite:rolleyes:

I see a clearance has been lodged for Tom Roberts to come back to united from Melbourne. Very big in for them is he gets cleared. Was a marking machine in the games I saw last year. Will be another good avenue to goal for them.

on the evidence presented (albeit over 2 quarters) in 2008 and the dramatic lift in top-end quality in the GVFL since does anybody else think it may be less of a game against ballarat next year rather than another O&M game? I know there's no gap in the fixture but to me it seems GVFL v O&M in any year is a bigger deal than whatever team may be 1 and whatever team may be 2 on the VCFL rankings
