Anyone see the United v Mooroopna game?

Yeah, very close all day til united kicked away in the last 10 mins. Matt Forys kept united in it early. Yze's did nothing. Perkovic kept souter out of it all day. Tim Looby hurt is ankle again in the 2nd quarter but came back on in the last to kick 3 freakish goals. Forys finished the last quarter off with a barrell from 60. I thout patak was mooroopnas best. Mcghie won most of the hitouts but didn't do much else around the ground. Overall I think united has the best defence in the comp, keeping Mpna to only 54 points. I also think they will only get stronger as their fwd line starts to gel with the inclusion of Forys & Looby making it more dangerous than last year with eagle.

Looking at the clearances and noticed Ben Anderson coming back to Rochy, which is pretty handy.

Interesting times....good get for Rochy, can play. Also wait for the late flurry for clearances to Mansfield. Ned in his last year.....tick, tick, tick. Grapevine tells me at least one other club could reveal a new recruit of a speedy nature!!!!!:D

My old Muppet mate from Echuca! Surely not a recruit for Echuca?? As for Ned-watch this space as I believe an ex AFL captain is on his way to town

I would say that the ex afl captain would be richmonds kane johnson????
would think mansfield might need a little more than that to beat the top sides and how long can people keep saying '' when they click'' they will be hard to beat!! No point clickin when they land in bali for there end of season trip and beat the balinese under 23 side:rolleyes:

players who will top the clubs votes for morrison ( check it in sept)

United- butler,looby,sidebottom
tat-warnett
swans-finnen,semmel
euroa-the bloke cookin the bbq
echuca-mcglone,egan
seymour- colbert x2
mooroopna- patak,roberts
kyabram-seddon,morgan
shepparton-o,sullivan
mansfield-mahoney,boshevski
benalla-green,mckean

Yeh as i thought i missed a couple of good'uns and looking at your utd choices in hindsight i meant Ryan Butler not Normington(although he has been very good). Most of these wouldn't be geniune contenders i wouldn't have thought with the exception of Mahoney and perhaps Egan as a smokey:cool:.

Archard (echuca) by a street. Guy Campbell (roch) runner up....smokey...Seddon (ky);)

Hey guys

Can't believe no one has mention it, but a big congrats to Euroa's Scott Watson on his 350th game last week. Obviously the boys couldn't get up as they are in a bit of a dry spell, but for someone to really only taken the game when he arrived in Euroa in his early's 20's (played for longwood in his first couple of seasons aswell) to play 350 gvfl games is massive

Big thumbs up Watto - push for 400

Brad Campbell , today your side that is paying a fair bit was beaten by a side with alot of local kids and vetrans. 5 goals up and Tatura with only 17 men in the second Qtr and for 8 mins in the 3rd got beat............ how could you let Tatura play 5 midfielders to your 4, and get away with it, sad news there ruckman done his knee.

The lions got so close, hit the front with about 3 minutes left and just could not hang on, well done tigers, hang in there lions:thumbsu:

Watched Mansfield and shepparton and big rumor was that Jarjourra is quitting Shepparton and heading across to Mooroopna. Sheppartons gain and Mooroopna's loss if true:eek: Few interesting rumors doing the rounds!

Jarjoura played well against Mansfield at the critical time last week. I dont know why he spends so much time sitting in the goal square doing nothing when shepp are getting smashed!!!!

IMO he should defo be getting more time on the ball.
No wonder he is not happy:(

The game was close all day and wasnt great to watch although close. That was the first time Rochester has won at Seymour in 6 years so the win was never going to be easy. Best described as a Dour contest No Heart?

Well we are at the half way mark of the the season and there is always speculation on who is going to finish in the top 6.

Shepp United - a real chance to go back to back, well coached
Mooroopna - people say easy draw, lost there ruckman, will finish 3rd-4th, easy draw?
Echuca - My tip to win it, best list, just have to win it this season,
Rochcester - won 7 going along nicely, will feature in the finals and finish top 4.
Tatura - the big improvers, tough draw, got one of the best coaches, can they do it
Kyabram - 5 and 4, will battle with tat, Mansfield, and Benalla for 5th and 6th

Mansfield - Rollar Coaster season continues, could they crawl into 5th or 6th
Benalla - 4 and 5 and hanging in there, needs to beat tatura this week
Shepparton - Also big improvers, Byers doing a great job 4 and 5, won only 1 last year
Swans - have a young list and starting to show, have won 2 more than i thought
Seymour - biggest disappointment, injurys have hurt, but everyone gets them.
Euroa - battling on against the odds, hope they get there 3rds up next season

didnt Mooroopna have the same issue last year with Mick Gay? As soon as he went down lost momentum and other teams came back into their own. The Cats ruckman is agile and acts as another on baller so hope its not too long for him.

They did have the same issue last season, what can we make of the cats, went out and got the Yzes ( and as rumour has it) spent a fortune on the 3 of them, how are they coming along, are the cats a chance of winning it or will they self destruct like in the past.

They can not loose saturday night against Ky.

Don't think the cats have won over there for a while...got beaten comfortably last year over there and I think the year before as well - Ky are their bogey side. They do need to win after a couple of losses but Ky look like they're starting to come good again, as they have this time the last few seasons. United and Rochy will be another ripping game... think United will be too powerful though, especially at Deakin, United have stars on every line. Only injuries will prevent them from going back to back this year.
Echuca and Tat are looking like the only sides to maybe take it up to them.
