This should be massive for the Cats Swoop. Just checked out their points situation and played with 37/44 in Round 18 which is not ideal. One would assume they might get a 44 point max again in 2020 but should have plenty of $$. Surely no chance they could have been paying anywhere near the cap for the past few years. With some list management and his networks they could bring in 2-3 'A' graders! Good for Mooroopna and the competition.

The annoying thing for me is they may have to offload some district players who have come into the GV, to fit more highly rated VFL players into the side. It hardly helps a struggling side. Some might say a 44 point cap limit is enough compared to the standard 40 points, but the ladder would suggest otherwise.
Mooroopna has a wealth of young blokes who are capable and have played together for many years through the juniors. Having a coach who has mentored other young players at a higher level might just be what they need.

Yes Silver expect him to bring in some quality personal. Very popular person as well and great get by Moroopna.

Silver,

If the same players that played rd 18 this yr are at the Cats in 2020 they have an extra 6 points to play with as well

Any love for Shepparton or Rochy this weekend? Flaherty could be a big out for Rochy.
Yes mate, Flaherty will be a big out. I imagine Shepparton and Rochester will both lose this weekend as Kyabram and Echuca are at a higher level. How did Kirkby go on Saturday?
Could he make a difference in this finals series given his pedigree?

Mate the Tigers will bring the intent and effort but Echuca should get there. Shep are a lurker I reckon. Kirkby was very good on the weekend. A bit of a wildcard is Roury.

Hearing that tat v shepp was one of the games of the year! Anyone go have a look?

Ok firstly don’t like night finals. But it was a typical final. Plenty of pressure and some mistakes and some good footy given the night lights. Tatura started very well and we’re up for it. Fothergill, Fraser and young Morris Serra were excellent. Losing Grenfell and Hill hurt Tat definitely. But Shepp regrouped particularly after Daniels got young Kerr high just before half time. I reckon it fired Shepp up. Third quarter Shepp lifted with debutant Cam
Wild on fire and Andronaco, Joel Brett and Harry Boyd getting multiple goals. The last quarter was pretty even with Tatura tiring due to rotations being down. But Shepp experience and youth got the job done. Yes Tat were cruelled with injury but Shepp too had Nick Allan, Xavier Stevenson, Tom Thorsen and late withdrawal Matthew Brett out as well. So, double chance for Bears and mothballs for the Bulldogs!

I watched the game and thought Tat were the better side for two and half quarters. There rebound off half back really worried shepp, they really should have been 40 points up at half time. They had the chance to put shepp away in the second term and didn’t. Tat lacked another key forward which would have been Grenfell. Andronoco was the difference with 6 goals but 4 of these were from iffy free kicks, the boy wild was super impressive for a kid he has a big future. All in all shepp would count themselves pretty lucky to get away with the win, they would want to better than that this week.
I’m hearing a few home truths were dished out to some Ky players after the game, they usually respond from these so will be interesting.

How bad was Daniels hit on Kerr? He’s starting to a bit of a reputation of hits on kids!

It wasn’t great but not that bad. Free kick definitely and too high but that’s it. Not reportable in my opinion. Borderline but certainly fired Shepp up. The younger

theatrical umpire certainly had his hands full. Shepp weren’t lucky as they beat Tatura three times for the year. They are clearly the third ranked team at this stage.

Believe there will be change at the Kennel , Dogs on the lookout for a new mentor.

I thought Gagliaardi better than wild in the younger divison for the bears. He has got some talent

Was given 2 weeks at the end of last season for hitting a kid from mooroopna, took it to the tribunal and got off or got a week off it. And the handful of times I’ve watched him in the last 12 months he seems to pick his targets in that of the young blokes.

In which that game, Mooroopna came out to Not to play Football and tried to whack every Tatura player on the field which caused an near all-in push and shove contest at 3 quarter time.

That game was one of the worse game of football I have seen and if I was GVL offical, I would be ashamed to watch the standard of football and the way Mooroopna played that game
