Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Seymour looking good!!!

Went down to the game yesterday expecting a tight tussle. It was not to be. The Lions completely outplayed Shep Swans and made them look 2nd rate. Seymour started and never looked back mainly due to No:2 for the Swans, who, at the first bounce had no eyes for the ball and charged (full pelt) and hit Brendan Liddell front on
I believe he was reported and yellow carded. The funny thing was, when running off the field, he was shaking his head in disbelief that he was yellow carded.......I've got 3 words for you. "Your gone buddy". :D

Well done to Jake Lorraine, Jake Anderson, Chewy and the raging bull, Matty O, for showing the opposition how to play the game. As much as we all missed Saad, Jake Lorraine filled his boots well and kicked (so I was told) 7.2, not bad for a 16 yr old kid!!!!

Things will only get better for the Lions, as they still have at least 6 top players to come back in. :p
Mooroopna next week, wow, what a game that will be.

Looks like you were wrong here bundy, he got off with a reprimand!:D

Anyone know how everyone else went at the tribunal??

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

I have heard that seymour will be missing a number of key players for the top of the table clah with mooroopna on saturday. Obviously Saad with suspension, but does anyone know the outcome of Schottner, Amad, Pembleton and Scanlon. I've heard that they will all be very unlikely? If so, does anyone know the time frame for each.

i would have loved to see both teams at full strength for this clash!!! :(

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Bond how can you compare Balraj with Brown??? Firstly he is not even in the top 5 forwards in the GV-can't kick goals against quality opponents, does'nt play finals if there is no coin on offer, is not a team player and is certainly not tough-in fact I could spend the next couple of hours posting the differences between the two-the silliest comparison ever:confused:
Exactly ringo.
Just as silly as saying Balraj be droped to the reserves.

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

What an outrage. How the hell did Josh Vick get a game in the VCFL squad. We had the bye and the weekend so I went to watch my old club Rochy and he got towered up by a man who has played 400 games and is about 36 or something years old. Is really capable of playing against the best players in the league. One player who did get over looked was Ash Watson. This bloke would be top 5 for the league medal. Continues to get 30+ possies a game while being heavily tagged. Congrates to all those others who made it tho, i see them to be some the best players in the GV.
Cheers Spagetti

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Yes I did manage to catch that - a very good report I must say.
Wasnt that good. Bit of a mickey mouse news report if you ask me.
Came across as a sub standard report, the sort of thing you would play at a football function and not on the National News.

Mooroopna v Seymour should be a cracker this week. These two clubs are a cut above the rest. Mooroopna to just take the points in a cracker of a game.

Have I missed the Masfield bus for the trip to Echuca???

Why is Saad missing? I thought he got 2 weeks and served 1 wk in the Interleague and last week against Swans so should be playing?

The interleague match didn't count although he was still ineligable to play in it.
This week will be his 2nd week

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Thanks. So he gets a 2 week suspension but is ineligible to play for 3 games! Strange.

It should be that he misses the 2 home and away games but is still eligible to play rep footy. Exactly the same as Daniel Kerr when he was allowed the play state of origin.

Better clear something up seems I started this conversation. I was not talking about him getting dropped to the reserves, I was talking about getting dropped from Kyabram altogether. Word is that Dirty is fed up with his shi* attitude as well as being so lazy. Hope that clears up what I meant.

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Nice insightful comment superstar.

Looks like Rochy and Echuca are going to be up there yet again. Successfully blooding juniors and relying on locals and winning games, its not that hard at all really.....

Did Duescher, Collins, Bowen & Schmidt play 3rds at Rochy?

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

have u got a clue champ

Yes, can you write more than 6 words or is that your limit?? Simply pumping up the tyres of two clubs I respect for what they do year in and year out and continue to be competitive.

They dont give up and have to move to a lower grade of football like your club and they dont rely on paying players from outside the area.

Bowen has moved to the area and plays cricket at Rochy as well, Schmidt coaches the bloody side so you cant compare him to blokes coming to play for coin that dont put back into the club. After that you have named two blokes, one from just down the road in Bendigo, not sure bout the other bloke.

I'm sure Rushy Tiger will be all over it

Carl & Dean Moon, Perry & Kahl Oliver, Anthony McPhee, Dylan Cuttriss, Sam Williams, Ash Watson, Nathan Whipp, Steve Rasmussen...10 players that all came through the thirds. Should I continue?

Geez you Rochy people love each other and youselves. Good to see the ECHUCABOY jumping in on the act too. Thought that teams that play each other as close as you blokes, would hate each others guts???
Might be why footballs turning soft now days, too many people being nice and not wanting to offend anyone!

I'm sure most clubs could say the same. Most sides would have 10 players to come through the thirds, its not that big a deal!

There would be a contract that provented Kyabram getting rid of him wouldnt there?????????

Rivalry is one thing CD. And yes, it probably has mellowed somewhat from early times. Providing shite opinions is another. You should know that from your numerous postings. Echucaboy is singing the praises of development from the thirds and how locals developed through the thirds play in Echuca and Rochester senior teams. 4-6 good outside players on good coin and you have a team that is top 4 material. Nuff said.

Whatever mate as far as I'm concerned im leading 1-0, you need to restore some pride.

The fact I dont play for Echuca prolly has something to do with me pumping up Rochys tires, however i give credit where credits due, cd.

Enough of pumping each others club up about the development of thirds. It's great to see but no need to continually go on about it. This gets brought up every second day. Surely there's something interesting to talk about.
