Seymour 26.15-171 def. Shepparton 12.8-80
Euroa 15.7-97 def. Echuca 10.4-64
Tatura 20.18-138 def. Mansfield 14.10-94

Big upset in the seconds. Shepparton beat the previous undefeated Seymour by one point. Shepp. had quite a few players missing and had to call up some retired 'players.'

HaHa one of those 'players' is closely related to you. they basically did it with 18 fit guys and three blokes on the bench that hadn't played for 12 months and had an average age of 35. There was no midfield rotations. The whole team showed a lot of heart in the end.

Euroas win over Echuca and Seymours win over Shepp two upsets, who saw these games and what did you think. People thought Euroa would be last and Seymour couldnt make the six.

seymour were all class against a depleted shepp side. They were without probably their best player in harrop early in the game, first 5 or so minutes. And only minuted later were down to only 1 on the bench.

Saad and paul colbert were good for seymour with 8 goals a piece, and scanlon gathered 40 + posscessions.

Although seymour had a great win, it was tarnished by the big injuries for shepp.

G'day boys,I'm a city slicker but have followed Echuca / Goulburn Valley from afar the past 18 years or so...I was told at the start of the year they would be ordinary, weren't spending up and were going with their kids(which is fine)...They seemed heavily competitive the first 6 weeks, but as of late, seem to have heavily fallen away and the Euroa result, again from afar seems terrible???Why have they dropped off so badly???

I reckon we were competitive up until the Ky game. Unfortunately Euroa got a sniff and can be very hard to beat down there and our performance was ordinary. The lack of experience is evident at times; 12 players aged 16-20, captain is 21 and only 2 players over 25 in the line -up. the side was also missing L Wilkinson, J Wilkinson, A Evans( Pioneers) and B Welch and lost Joyner( knee) during the game. Some believed that we would struggle to win a game and we won three in a row before coming back to earth. The side can beat teams above it and we knew that some of the younger players would struggle at times. Hubbard,Ismail,Reid, Evans,Costello,Childs,Herrick and Walton are eligible for u/18 and Morris,J Wilkinson,Pearson,Joyner,Male are all 1st year senior players so there will be some ups and downs. If there is some patience shown these boys will develop into excellent footballers. Nearly all players have commited to next year which is great!:thumbsu:

Not sure if its been publicly announced yet, but Perry Meka is the new Swans coach.
You have got to be kidding!!!!!!!!!!! How can a loud mouthed, back stabbing, kid bashing sniper become coach of the Swans!!! I guess they don't know him that well or maybe his bed buddy Damian ouze (however he spells his name) has brain washed the club. Good luck with that, just remember, bad people bring bad things to a club!!! The Swans have lost all respect that I had for them.........The only coach Meka should be, is under one!!!!:mad::thumbsdown:

People.......two quick questions......

1. I hear a talented, fit young fella by the name of Jake Childs returned to play his first game for the Tigers in the twos last week. How did he go? Any chance of a seniors birth? Maybe at the expense of Sam Williams who hasnt been looking too good?

2. Does anyone know current flag odds and which betting agency would provide them?

Juddy who are you thinking of backing?

Some interesting results from yesterday.

Echuca beating Tatura was a pretty big upset, although Echuca have shown some promising signs this year. Maybe Tatura are getting tired?

United nearly beat Kyabram. Anyone see that game?

Euroa had a good and unexpected win over the Swans, who are probably waiting for the season to end.

Rochy and Seymour had solid wins. Shepparton had a few players missing and had a few injuries during the game which didn't help their cause.

Mansfield had a massive win over Mooroopna. Many people would have expected a closer game.

Some great games this week;
Shepparton vs Mansfield
Seymour vs Rochester
Kyabram vs Benalla
Euroa vs Shepparton United
Mooroopna vs Echuca
Tatura vs Shepparton Swans

The United vs Ky game was played in constant rain the whole day, a slog from start to end. Sidebottom was BOG, Edwards on top in the ruck belted the bull forwards all day and Freer after a great first half slowed in the second half. Ky didn't deserve to win but it probably is a sign of how they have improved this year, didn't stop competing all day and with that perseverance finally got over United in the last few minutes. Atkins was Ky's best and his long kicking late in the last quarter was big reason for the last minute victory. Oggie and Beckie a couple of the young guys who stood up again. Another good sign was Ky winning without some of their guns not having much influence in the game.

Interesting result for Ky, especially with Tat losing in another close one. Looks like it will be a battle between Ky, Tat and Mansfield for the second spot, might just be this lucky win to Ky to get them there in the end.
