Rochy won controversially by a point kicked as the siren went. The ball bounced through just as the umpire called time. A discussion between umpires was required and for the first time all day they made the correct decision.

It was a very windy day and the point was scored at the non scoring end. Rochy were down a fair bit by their standards and really did not dominate play at all.

Apparently White was sitting in the Ky coaches box yesterday while they were giving the swans a flogging...so I doubt he will be back.

Snelson has been cleared to Nathalia and played yesterday.

Peter White was definitely not in the Ky coaches box or in the corporate box. Where does this rubbish come from, as if Ky would go down that track. Ky respects him and swans too much to put that much pressure on.

Plenty of stories around but there didn't hear of anyone who saw him there.

Back to footy, Ky sitting 2nd at the moment, maybe just a point, last kick of the day from Rochie, stopping them being on top. Swans after a great start only kicked a couple more after quarter time and Ky dominated the game from then on. On top all over the ground with their onballers again winning everything. Run the Swans off their feet with accurate delivery and super fitness. Not only are they kicking big scores everyweek, their defence is not only stopping the scoring but providing great run and opportunities for their forwards who are capitalising.

What was the story with Mooroopna/Rochie, low scoring game, was it a battle of the defences? Rochie lucky or Mooroopna stiff?

Think the Cats may be a little better than their ladder position suggests. If they can get their full list on the park they are going to be very dangerous come finals time. Plenty of match winners all over the ground. They have a tough draw but you would think they will finish in the top 6.

Only 16 and has another year, missed out on initial squad, but was asked to join them a month ago but decided against it to concentrate on schooling knowing he has next year to have a crack.

I understand his initial response was no however they again phoned to request he attend. will be playing in a couple of weeks.

It appears pretty open-Mooroopna and Ky appear to be gaining momentum and rochy just have'nt clicked yet but are on top. Shepp will have to be very wary of Seymour this weekend and Tat have another huge game against Mansfield and won't want to drop 3 in a row

You can have all the money in the world but unless you win games it is very difficult to attract players. Perhaps an ex-afl player with a substantial profile might help them out.

Like what Benalla did a few years ago with the Stevens brothers and Porter.

What about Rochester's team this season? Are they as good as the Seymour's of the past? Matt Lechter, Elliot Bowen provide great goalkicking power..

I think if benalla have $$$ in the bank they will be able to throw a bit of coin around an assemble a quality side that will turn it around next year. As far as needing to win games to attract players I think Tatura have disproven this in getting players like owen, cosgriff and little as well as past guns like Kirby an wellington back to the club after last couple of years. I think a clubs winning culture becomes a big factor if they don’t have much money to throw around...we all know the power of the almighty dollar. As for the Rochester/Seymour comparison I think Seymour cos they have the runs on the board, 3 flags from 4 consecutive gf appearances is hard to argue against as good as rochy r. As good as the field is this year with most clubs in the six a realistic threat on the right day, I think rochy will b seen as underachievers if they don’t win it this year. Thoughts???

YOU ARE KIDDING RIGHT ????? When and only when Rochester win 3 in a row then and only then will we dicuss that. They have a great side but you still have to win the one that counts Shepp footy and the tigers have two to go :thumbsu:

Totally agree Hearty, they have a super team but they do have to win the big one, its no good talking up a team and then they fall over at the last hurdle.

Great Quote Bluey, Benalla are in talks already with a coach and planing in a very positive way for season 2010 .

At the risk of sounding like a broken record- The league website needs some urgent attention- Has not been updated since June 11th. Since then we have had a coached sacked,( 1 line) three results from last week, three more games this week, five GV footballers picked in the Vic Country squad and NOTHING about any of these on the league site:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:
