Has anyone talked about this on the pie site? With a photo like this, how can we not win a premiership?

Surely tis true, we need a Web Master more than a footy manager....
Better still.
Collingwood should break from the pathetic AFL club site template fiasco.

Was interesting hearing Graham Wright's perspective on long term contracts now he's at the pies. Said on SEN on the way into the ground last night that Grundy is a talent and at his age he can understand the deal. Followed that up by saying Hawthorn had a rule where they wouldn't offer more than 5 year contracts, that he hasn't yet been at CFC long enough to discuss new ideas etc. Continued back to saying he understood the deal being done.

Came across on this topic and another that I only caught the end of that he doesn't want to disrespect what's already been done at Collingwood before his appointment, but it wasn't his way and he/Hawthorn would have gone about it differently. As such don't I expect we'll see more than 5 years being offered from now on.

Also seems that Wright may have been our best offseason recruit. I sense he'll shake things up quickly.

I'd take it one step further and not give any player a million dollar plus contract that is more than 3 years. It's too big a risk. If they walk then walk. Obviously if they are asking that sort of money then you can get some good compensation via the draft.
7 years, 7 million for a ruckman. That's insane.
I hope it doesn't but I am pretty sure it is going to bite us on the backside big time.

I'd like to know when our salary cap will free up. We've cut heavily but we're still paying big chunks of contracts. Grundy's contract size and length is crazy which will limit us. I'm hoping we have a warchest but I fear we don't. Which is really concerning. What a balls up we've made of player contracts.

Lyon is the other option, but he’s yet to show his defensive style can win a flag.

A massive no to Lyon. We've already played his style of football under much of Buckley's tenure. It's some of the dullest football I've watched.

At least Lyon know what he is Doing

In terms of experienced coaches I can’t see many others being obtainable. I’d much rather an experienced assistant or footy person than Lyon, Worsfold or B Scott. With the latter two there’s been no rumour they’d be interested in a return to coaching.

I’ve been a massive Eddie & Bucks supporter but yeah, it’s time.

Same here until 2020....

bucks knows its time to rebuild.

But at the same time he's coaching for his career. Will he take the high road, admit his time is over and play the kids like Tony Shaw did in 1999?

Or will he cover himself and opt to keep playing the 2018 GF side desperately clinging onto hope?

If he picks Mayne, C.Brown next week at the expense of youth, it'll become a little more obvious he's coaching not for the future but to cover his own record.

I'm not advocating for an experienced coach, I think that was Dave, although I like Clarkson and think he'd be excellent.

It has already bitten us on the backside big time, we were seduced into succumbing to a lumbering baby giraffe overinflated opinion on his self worth which then went a long way to the fire sale we had in the off season , never learn Collingwood, Wrighty will right the ship, he does not suffer fools gladly

He was a toe poke and a leg break away from being a double premiership coach. He got 3 teams to GFs without a decent backline but a solid defensive fame plan. However, having said that I don't want him as our coach

Voss will likely coach somewhere next year. Not necessarily us. I wouldnt mind a Hodge or Mark Williams or Gary Ayres (despite age) as Assistant Coaches as they have continued to have success in VFL and Development
