Take your pick on rumours spartan - there were strong rumours going around in '18 that the players weren't playing for Buckley but the performance of that team under the utmost injury duress for the entire finals series makes those rumours a joke.

Rumours are like arseholes - everyone's got one......................................

Some of the theories I have read today (that Wright has only agreed to come back to Collingwood because Eddie is leaving, or that Wright is coming on condition that Bucks is gone by the end of the season so Clarkson can replace him)....are bordering on the ridiculous.

Be that as it may, I doubt Wright’s appointment has anything to do with a plan to offer Clarkson the coaching job.
Maybe, but there was talk for years that Wright would never work at Collingwood while Buckley was there. I have no idea if there was any truth to it, but it will be interesting to see how the next 12 months pans out.
So many are so desperate to see the back of Buckley they will snatch at any straw . . .

Pathetic really.
The only thing pathetic here is your constant sniping and twisting of what was a perfectly civil discussion in to an us vs them argument.

The talk was obviously wrong.

You've misinterpreted what I said. I don't think we got Wright to make a play at Clarkson. Wrights a great get in his own right.

That said we have a coach who has struggled at times and whose position is being questioned. We have a new footy boss with a relationship with a coaching legend who is out of contract in a couple of years. I can see a possibility there.

I'm not desperate to see Buckley's back. I'd like him to succeed. But it's not unreasonable to question his tenure considering last years performance.

You didn’t do that. You linked Wright’s appointment with getting Clarko.
If Bucks fails this year then we can look for a replacement.

"Talk" = Bigfooty rumours?

Maybe he was committed to his role and while he was a key member of a well run club winning multiple flags, he decided to stay where he was for the betterment of his career?

A less exciting concept of course than an invented rumour that he hated people at Collingwood.

Quicky you have a balanced attitude, others don't. Indeed there are some . . . and they know who they are . . . who have been after Buckley's head since before he took over the senior coaching role.

I wasn't aiming at you Quicky but at those who wanted his head from before he took over from Malthouse. These people are still posting their poison completely unhindered and this post will disappear as many others have before because it doesn't suit the mob.

Not really... Many are desperate for a proper football coach.
Bucks has been head coach since 2012, He's ran his race and been okay but Clarkson is 10x the coach Buckley is.

We moved on T.Shaw for Mick and I'd hope we do the same on bucks for clarko

My boyfriend thought I had gone nuts as I leapt up and gave a huge yell of triumph when I heard this. He is still looking at me a little worried. I have decided not to tell him and just smile quixotically on random occasions to keep him on his toes.

But I am cheering on the inside. This is very, very good.

Too many ‘invented rumours’ about our club have turned out to be true for me to instantly dismiss them, unless they’re completely improbable. If you want to dismiss them straight off the bat then that’s your prerogative.

I honestly can't remember, but I wonder if Gubby Allen's arrival was greeted with similar enthusiasm before it all came crashing down?

No. Pretty sure Gubby had the cloud of suspicion over his head re his involvement in the Whitfield incident well before he was hired... and hence the enthusiasm for his return was very mixed.

Then Screwed us over when he probably knew he was going to be Suspended

Great appointment by the Pies, an upgrade on Walsh (who btw, did a fantastic job in a tough environment).

Hopefully instils some confidence in the supporter base about the President search. This goes to show it is possible to upgrade no matter how good the incumbent was.

The mere suggestion of Ed moving (before he called it) had some fractions petrified.

Possible to change for the better.
