This is happiness. This is fulfilment. This is calm.

Thank you Brisbane Lions. It doesn’t matter what happens in 2025. This group has done something amazing. Chris Fagan has brought together and built an amazingly talented and humble group of men. Stay true to yourselves and to each other.

Thank you my fellow BFers. We’ve been through a lot. To share this with you all (well…most of you!) has been awesome.

1st off congratulations on the win. That 2011 to 2018 period was tough.

From 2014 until 2018, it was dire. 5 years in a row of bottom 4 finishes.

Brisbane made top 4 in 2019.

People bagged out Brisbane in 2020 because they didn't make that grand final at the Gabba.

Not to mention falling short in 2021 and 2022.

Then Brisbane had that heartbreaking grand final loss last season. I was cheering for Brisbane And wanted them to win last year's grand final.

Finally In 2024, Brisbane finally got that elusive flag.

Elixuh , scoman and Toffee Lion , take a bow, you deserve this win.

I would love to know how many Brisbane posters were on here in 2014 when it was really bleak. There was a fair few.

Thank you Mr Maniac, I hope Freo can salute soon too for you

Happy thinking that Bulldog Murray would have been watching on at home and got to see us win a flag again, hope he is doing well.

Just got home from a few drinks with all our crew at the transport pub in federation square. What an incredible day. That game of footy by our boys was A1. Thank you for leaving your best game to last. No passengers today, the complete performance. And also for arranging the march from federation square, thank you. My son, daughter and myself done it and such fun it was.

What a resillient performance from the Lions. Jarrod Berry and Starce really made amends for last year like real champions. Chips were down for most of the season but never gave up and trusted the process that got them right to where they are. They overcame their biggest obstacles - injuries, travel, MCG.

Serious question - how the hell does Levi Ashcroft get into this team next season? Ditto Tom Doedee

An honour to be at the G yesterday, wearing a (bears) scarf i bought in 1995 and wore watching Chopper Ashcroft in the 2001 GF. No passengers yesterday but wanted to give shout outs to a few who might not feature too much in the votes.

Charlie missed his first shot, but then laid two tackles that arguably did more to set the tone in the first.

Hugh was so clean and so good in the first quarter.

Ryan Lester, while the media keeps (rightly) lavishing praise on Zorko still going around at the top level, Froggy is our hidden gem of an elder statesman. If you know you know, and now at least lions fans seem to know.

I'm impressed and somewhat humbled by the number of well -wishing Collingwood and Richmond supporters who have come on here.

Considering that both these clubs have more often than not been our nemeses over the past six years, I'm taking it as a mark of respect for the Lions as worthy opponents that they have taken the time to do so.:thumbsu:
...and not to forget some very gracious swans supporters who would be hurting.

Personally I stared following the Lions midway during the 2006 season, when we were well and truly past our golden age. Those first 10 seasons - bar 2009 - got increasingly difficult to watch, a basketcase from top to bottom, mired in the abyss of irrelevancy and worse, pity. I'll never forget the scenes of the Gabba being a ghost town, often with crowds lower than GWS & GC, with only the true die hards in attendance and often outnumbered by the opposition supporters.

From what I remember, the general sentiment amongst Lions supporters back in those days was if we lost a game by 20 points, that was considered a 'good result'. Finals and Premiership glory were nothing but distant dream at best.

Today we wake up and the dream is now reality, we have climbed the mountain top.

Enjoy this everyone, how sweet it is!

And Andrews in the actual best team of the year. How he missed out no one will ever know.
I think today and the finals series showed that Starce is the best in the comp in his role. He gets blamed for Hill kicking 5 last year but IIRC he was only on Hill for two of those goals.

Dunks is close to if not the #1 run with/defensive mid in the game.
