Played all this year?

He has traditionally started in the twos, and been called up when someone else is injured. And then we are all, how good is cal? Like we had forgotten.

I am sure the discussions re team in Round one there will be people saying Cal is the logical out.

His season this year says to me he is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Have said it before. He is the glue that holds our forward line together.

My wife (well, soon to be in 1 week) has gone to bed with my almost two year old

Dad is up watching the grand final, while having a few drinks

I get so f&$king excited seeing that Joey goal at the end

Fitting Zorko had the last touch. Wish he had the ball like lynch did in 2001 but still fitting

🦁 🍻 🏆

That shot of Lachie running and jumping onto Zorko will be etched in memory forever, much like the Lynch moment or the footage of Lethal walking down the stairs pumping his fists.

Since Ah Chee first joined us for the 2020 season he has played in Round 1(Round 0 this year) every year except 2023 when he was injured to start the year.

I have a question. How long is it acceptable to wear Lions gear around outside? I've been wearing something every day since last Saturday. Whether it's for a run or a bike ride or a walk or to the cafe/supermarket or for a beer at the pub.

Normally when we have a good win I'm happy to wear the colours until the next game is closer (so if we play on Friday night and then the following Saturday, Tuesday is my cut off) but if that rule applies after a Grand Final by my estimation that just about takes us to Christmas.

This is fine right? I might order the premiership polo so I have a bit more of a wardrobe to rotate through 😁
For those of you following along at home (everyone, obviously 😎), this puts the "halfway point" at 17 December.

So I'm gonna need to sort out some new wardrobe for Christmas!

My work Xmas party in Sydney is on 6 December so still well within the acceptable timeframe. Hopefully the premiership polo arrives by then.

I ordered my Lions Premiers Polo shirt late September, still haven't received it, latest correspondence from the Lions was on October 6th changing order status to "Awaiting stock delivery", anyone else received/not received theirs?

Nah. I think when I put my order in it said mid or late November. I'm happy to wait.

I have watched this game A LOT of times now and my 2 favourite moments in the game were:
Joey’s run down tackle and subsequent turnover to Cam Rayner, kick over the top and Cal’s run in to an open goal on 3/4 time. The crowd reaction while he was running in and after kicking the goal was just priceless and knowing that they were never coming back from here was just such a high.

And the Joey goal at the end of the game, the crowd reaction, Joe’s reaction and the teams reaction was all a thing of beauty. It was a beautiful final moment for the game.

Berry’s goal was a close third, so glad he took his moment after him putting some blame on himself after last year.

They all bring a bit of a tear to the eye still.

Cals goal at the end of the third was what triggered the final bits of tension i was feeling to disappear

Yep same for me, clear #1 for all the reasons you say here.

I honestly haven't watched a replay just highlights but my favourite moment at the time was when Blakey and Cal had that front on clash and Cal picked himself up and got it off to McCluggage steaming past and he absolutely drilled it ,split the centre.

The way our guys were reacting the thought crossed my mind they're not beating us today.

The icing on the cake was the sooky look all over Blakey's face , he looked like they'd already lost.

We were behind the goals and I just remember everyone standing up and waving Cal in. She was done and dusted from there.
Next best for us was last quarter and whenever Jack walked back to the goal square facing the crowd he would get this cheeky little grin.😀

Yep I compare it to Zorko. That 50 was ridiculous and he shook his head at it rightly and then immediately got his head back in the game.

1. Joe icing - Chefs kiss in hindsight.

2. McLuggage Q1 goal - when I believe the seed of doubt started to sprout for the swans. Mentally a telling moment for me where they realised it’s not going their way and we knew we were on.

3. Ashcroft sausage Q3.

On Friday night, I had a dream that the grand final was being played yesterday the SCG.
Ah yes, the best-of-3 Grand Final series.

Game 1 @ the highest bidder (Super Bowl style bidding process)
Game 2 @ MCG (to honour existing contract)
Game 3 @ home ground of minor premier (if required)

One of the worst 50 metre penalties of all time.

A trigger-happy umpire wanting to have his moment

Even the commentators were all over it, pointing out that later in the game there were several incidents of Swans players running over the mark for no result.

But anyway, it makes our total dominance after that atrocity, even sweeter

I don't think the 50 was for going over the mark, Zorko hesitated for a moment, I think the umpire may of said outside 5, then he decided to man the mark
