The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Silverstein said the Packers "have no choice but to trade" Jordan Love after re-signing Aaron Rodgers.

"The draft isn't strong at the QB position and the free agent market is even worse, so rather than play out the final two years, they should deal him right now," Silverstein added. The Packers committing to Rodgers over the next four years means Love has no shot of seeing the field barring an injury to Rodgers. The Packers could shop Love to teams desperate for a decent quarterback. The Broncos come to mind.

Was it really thou Rodgers played his best ball last few years with love breathing down his neck. Plus Rodgers left or retired needed some sort of insurance

What an absolute waste picking Love was
Not exactly. I think Aaron is going to help him develop.
Need to remember Love is like your next favourite AFL star. One that will be taking your current favourite player's spot when your current favourite player retires.

He's there to play along side Aaron.

If it is a four year deal for Rodgers then Love will not see the field. He'll effectively be backup for six seasons - that just won't happen

Love "breathing down his neck" implies that he was close to taking Rodgers spot in the team. Obviously he was nowhere near it.

Insurance I understand.

All of the rumours have been false about Aaron Rodgers going elsewhere.
Think of Aaron as you would with those loyal AFL stars that have the rumour mill follow them about when they are going to stay with their current club.

Not sure of how many years he's signed up for.
All i know is that he's staying and will be helping the younger players develop.
Imagine learning how to read how Aaron Rodgers passes the ball. Each pass of his is golden.

This is not the AFL though. No QB sits for 3+ years in the league as it stands and becomes great. I expect them to move on from Love in the near future. But for now, a young kid who knows the playbook? Good enough

They have a thing which is called Special Teams, which is the future of the club. Think of them as your vfl side.
Jordan love is one that will play along side Aaron. It's like Nick Larkey and Jason Horne Francis.

I’m fully aware of the special teams and scout teams. But the fact remains GB went too early on trying to draft a QB (assuming Rodgers was fading which he wasn’t), and now they are in a sticky spot. If Rodgers is healthy and in GB, Jordan Love won’t start. Simple. Great for Jordan to sit behind, but his trade value is 0 and they know that. They’ll try move him in maybe 2 years.

The NFL doesn’t allow for the development time other sports do. If you have sometimes 1-2 unproductive years you’re on the outer. I wish him as much success as any other young aspiring sportsman, it just will probably not be in Wisconsin.

Green Bay do. Also all the other teams are responsible for it.
Special teams can drive people bonkers if they don't get it right.

Look at every QB or RB who’s had a poor season or two. They’re usually moved on.

Love hasn't had a poor season. He's only just started. Perhaps give him some time instead of being such a perfectionist.
Think of those rookie listed players on an AFL list. They have to start somewhere. So why not play like the main team instead of piss farting about with the ball like what those special teams do.

You’d think if there going to get anything f or love it’s now. Still has 2-3 years to play out a rookie contract so a teams paying f**k all for him And cause he hasn’t really had the chance to start he is a little bit of an unknown.
I’m saying that, gb aren’t getting much for him. Wasted pick. Just move on

I don't think he will get moved on to be totally fair. I think he will honour his contract even though he's a rookie. Let him work on his skills a bit under a guy who is actually teaching him how to read his intercepting passes.

Anyway happy to see it official but it was fairly obvious the whole time. Keen to see final details of the deal and what happens with the next lot of guys we need to sort out! Still Crosby, Lewis, Cobb, P.Smith, Z.Smith and possibly Turner and Lowry to be sorted out. Not to mention FAs on offense in Tonyan, MVS and Lazard. Keeping Tonyan and Lazard would be a good return with Tae and either a draftee or Amari Rodgers stepping up. Really hope we can somehow figure out a deal for Campbell too.
