Overall that was a successful season, but to lose like that is just so incredibly disappointing.

We have some interesting decisions to make in the off-season now. With the contracts of Bakhtiari, Smith and Jones, we need a new DC, new kicker, majority of our safeties are FAs and I'd imagine we'd want to extend Love.

100%.

Bakhtiari- He's been a fine player, but given his age, reliability, and cap#, we have to say goodbye, unfortunately. Cut and re-sign to a cheaper contract if we can? A leader, the people love him!

Smith- I think we keep him, don't really save a lot by cutting him anyway, and I think his leadership is pretty important. I think he's the guy they all look up to. Statistically he doesn't look much, but he seems to rise when needed. With Enagbare out also, better the devil we know.

Jones- Team MVP, bar none. Hard to keep him at $17M, but these playoffs have shown what he means to us.

Carlson- I'm willing to give him another year...too often teams give up on kickers too early. Like QB, stability is important. We don't want to be one of those teams.

Safety- Day 1 or 2 pick, please.

Love- Even with his play in the back end of the season, I don't want to over-commit here. After his first INT today, he was a deer in the headlights and didn't come back. I wanna know he can keep his head in the game before we pay him $40Mp/a. Love Love, but that was a shit last quarter when we needed him to step up.

I think it's concerning that he got worse as the season went on, rather than improving with experience a la Love.

I can't remember ever seeing a kicker miss as many extra points as he did this season. Just looked it up and he ranks about where I was expecting.

It was Carlson's fifth straight game with a missed kick and 10th in the last 12 games. For the season, Carlson missed 13 kicks. His field goal percentage of 81.8% in the regular season ranked 26th for all kickers and his 87.2% on extra points ranked 32nd.

Neither Crosby or Longwell hit 80% of their FGs in their rookie year. Chris Jacke never made 80% his entire career.

These are three of the greatest Packer kickers ALL TIME.

Its not an easy position to master, and if he struggles next season maybe think about it, but on the back of this season I wouldn't. I feel this is one of those situations where positive reinforcement could do wonders.

The Facemask on Jones im not bothered by since the next play we got the big PI. but it happened right next to a zebra it was the same one who messed up 3 spots on that drive.

Most of them we will hopefully clean up next year. Im just sick of the f**king 9ers in the playoffs blocking us.
The lack of Mustgrave was strange.

Draft needs. Center, day 2 HB, ILB, S, Edge depth, guard/Tackle, CB. [not in any real order, but would look at OL round 1]

Jones will restructure again or might extend at a lower number. Bak likely cut, Campbell cut or only stay because cutting wont really save much.

Ballentine, Owens i see returning and both will be low cost 2 year deals. Extend Love.
Nijman and Nixon might be back depending on how much they ask for. Yosh had a poor year so that might help us since he might take less. Ford might be back.

Didnt Crosby set a league record for points scored as a rookie. We were putting up big numbers most weeks in 07

I like that the team and supporters are hurting. It was a bit of a choke in the end. They stopped using Jones in q4. Game was ready to be slotted into the freezer
We were not getting run looks. and when we did it was 1-2yds outside of that big run which had some missed tackles.

I have more of an issue calling plays where most of the passes were in the middle. we were getting good gains outside and stopped using them late.

I still think on the game ending INT we had a bad look. Jones was chipping and slipped by the time he recovered he was covered up and Love had no checkdown so tried to force it. and should of ran or throw it at Jones feet. Hopefully its a learning moment.

I don't think we get rid of him, but we'll be bringing in competition for him.

A lot of thoughts.

Ultimately that was another playoff choke. And I really hate logging onto twitter to see the whole 'we weren't supposed to be here' narrative which is completely pathetic in my opinion.

If you're on the doorstep of an NFC Championship game against a team you've beaten this season, you should be very ****ing annoyed that they fumbled that chance. Absolutely we can talk about how bright the future is, but there are no guarantees in this game at all, look at Philadelphia, look at Buffalo continuing to never be able to get over that hump that they have now. It doesn't just happen, so you have to take your chances when you have them.

Taking your chances when you have them is the story of the game though really, Green Bay 2 dropped interceptions, San Fran 2 caught interceptions. Add in the fourth down missed conversion (we obviously got it but I didn't really like that play on what seemed like a long one yard) and of course the missed FG, you just can't do all that shit against a good team like the 49ers.

However this was my favorite year as a fan, of course there were lows, I'm more just disappointed there isn't another week of being a fan waiting for a game for this fantastic team. There will be big changes, but I really grew to love so much of this team. I suppose seeing the guys live a few times especially at Lambeau made it more special personally but even Aaron Jones said this was his favorite team he's played in.

I'm keen to see what they do with the defensive backs, and what happens as ILB. I dunno if cutting Campbell is worth the cap hit but I don't really want to see him on the field if he's going to play like he has.

Just on Gary, I feel like he kind of ran out of puff. His body probably was okay the first two thirds of the season but maybe coming off missing a fair bit of time he just couldn't get up as well week to week and his play showed that I think. I'm not worried about him going forward but if this slump continues into next year that's concerning. We'll keep PED P, he had one of the best runs of his career. Hopefully LVN takes that jump, he'll have the chance with Enagbare out, 5 sacks this year though for his snap count is a decent return.

Just can't believe we lost it after that long Jones run! Shouldn't happen but we move forward. I don't have that shattered feeling like previous playoff losses, moreso just disappointed that we let such a big opportunity squander.

Its going to suck watching the Lions get rolled in a game thats over at the half knowing it should of been us slapping them down to earth. But we wouldnt of beat the Ravens

The thing is mate, I do absolutely agree they'd more than likely absolutely shit all over us but in this sport there's always a small chance a few things randomly go your way and you end up winning. It's what I don't understand about the 'we weren't supposed to be here' crowd.

Hate digging up old wounds but it feels like the Seahawks game from 2014. Went in expecting to lose, as the game went on it felt more and more like the game was ours, clearly the better team on the day but every 50/50 ball bounced the Seahawks/9ers way when it counted. In the end we’re left wondering once again what could’ve been, a feeling I’m pretty ****ing sick of it tbh.

Though I love how Gutey has constructed this roster and how he has nailed the last two drafts the Rasul trade sucks. Through all the what ifs in game this one hurts the most for me. If he’s still in green and gold we win that game and probably beat Detroit next week too.

Right after Barry was let go, Miami let Fangio go. But the Eagles are already talking to him about getting him back.

People wanted Jim Leonard 12 months ago when Wisconsin overlooked him for the HC spot and let him go.

Devastated losing two of my all time favourites in Bakh and Jones but I understand it from a business point of view.

Love the McKinney and Jacobs signings. Jacobs took me by complete surprise because it’s such an un-Packers thing to do. Had a down year last year but that offense was hot garbage. Excited to see what he can do with a good QB and good scheme.

Maybe I should’ve seen it coming, both 26 at the time of signing too. Gutey does not stray from his strategy. Expect us to draft a RB in the 2nd round I guess.

going from Jones to Jacobs is a massive downgrade. Sure at his best Jacobs is a top 10 RB. but give me the top 2-3 guy in Jones and draft one day 2 and another late day 3.

Bahk we all saw coming. Hope he can get healthy again and play well for someone.

Jones was a surprise, and it appears the FO lowballed him by wanting a 50% discount on his deal but it appears the team is after obviously youth, but also it appears they haven't been thrilled with Jones' availability the last few years.
He's incredible when he's on the field, and his last stretch when he came back was truly awesome to watch. Probably my favorite Packer pound for pound in my relatively short time being a fan. So nifty, always finding the space in tight spaces and it would've been hundreds of times in the end when you think 'oh that's a three yard run', and then it ends up being 7 or 8 yards due to Jones either spinning through something, pushing, or just extending it some other strange way.

It's a business though and it's upsetting for sure but if we're being realistic it's been a stretch and a surprise that he actually has been back the past two seasons and I've been grateful for those years.

Next is Bakh, it's been a tragedy. Firstly on a team level, if the team has his very high level of production in either the 2020(21) NFC Championship, they probably get to the Super Bowl and easily beat the Chiefs. I can just imagine the frustration he's had with an injury that at times can often be quite simple and a set 9-12 month recovery, turning into what it's been for him. I hope he can find health and play more in the league.

I love the signings, McKinney will be awesome for us I hope. And I think the team will get the necessary production out of Jacobs and whoever they draft, I doubt it's the Texas guy, could be Corum from Michigan.

I don't think Jacobs is a massive downgrade.

The main issue with Jones is availability and age. He's now 30 and unfortunately plays a position where 30 seems to be the cliff. Granted he doesn't have the wear that others have had, but he's definitely got the tear.

Thinking about it more. I feel like Jacob's is a Dillion upgrade and we will draft 2 RBs with one 3rd/4th round and another late or UDFA. I expected us to look at RB in the draft but now it's moved up. But S has moved out of the top need but still want to draft another.

Our oldest player on Offense is now Jenkins at 28.

Jabobs seems to be a 2 year deal then cut.

Hope Jones doesn't go to the Vikes. Would love to see him on the Texans.
