Greene's One Week - Mabo, the Vibe, Justice

Didn't even deserve a fine last week. Sure he plays a little rough, but putting your hands near someone's face is worthy of a suspension? Lol.
Cox suffered a torn cornea, which ruled him out for the year due to an accident poke in the eye. A fine or suspension is the correct penalty for deliberate actions like we’ve seen with Greene.

Last week Greene wasn't even charged with eye gouging. If we're gonna start suspending people for touching someone's face, then we need to start suspending people who commit a high tackle.

It's just non-AFL sources at the moment like Slobbo

They'll appeal for sure and the cynic in me says he'll get off. Hope not - regardless of it being good for us he needs a deterrent before someone is seriously hurt.

I hope he gets off and Maynard shuts him down.

Either you are being deliberately obtuse or you have no sense of proportion in this matter. In either case it's laughable.

He was charged with misconduct and was very lucky not to be suspended.
Thankfully his luck has run out.

The angles I've seen have not been definitive in showing any gouging, so in the system we have, he can't be found guilty. Unless the MRO used a different angle to what we've seen, he should't be offered a suspension.

I don’t believe he has been offered 1 week for eye gauging this week. It was for ‘unecessary contact to the face’. Which can clearly be seen on replay & probably via Brisbanes medical report

The afl always say they dont show all the camera footage they have to the public

Interesting. However, the medical report wouldn't have hurt Greene as Neale said their was nothing in it.

If true, that's BS. Why not be more transparent?

If Mummy continually puts his knee through Grundy's ribs (if he could lift his leg that high) at every opportunity this week then that is part of the game and playing rough.
Greene doing this sh?t off the ball to the number one player of the opposition while under a pack of team mates is pure rubbish and needs to be ruled out. He is obviously treading a fine line and was warned. Doing it again and there is no way he should be allowed to keep doing it.

If you opt to bump and make head high contact you take a massive risk of suspension. That's part of the game.

Gutlessly raking at someones face is Ok you think? considering he's been warned only the week before.

AFL tribunal looking seriously inept at this stage.
Greene sent straight to tribunal last week for serious misconduct arising from a series of actions including unnecessary contact to the face, driving of the forearm into a player’s head, double grab of a players hair forcing player’s head into the ground.
The tribunal is to allocate a penalty based on the totality of these acts.
Receives a fine. (Laughable)
This week offered a one match ban for one offence of unnecessary contact to the face.
If they’d done what they should have and suspended him last week (for 2 matches) they wouldn’t have this debacle and you never know Greene might have got the message and the game would be better for it.

So attacking the face and eyes is okay with you?

He should have got a week last week. Attaching defenceless players on the ground should attract punishment at the higher end of the spectrum. It is cowardly.
He pulled Bont's hair, and rubbed his forearm in his face. That's it. Two other acts involving hits to the ribs and being pushed in the fence were committed last week in the GWS-Dogs game. Ask any boxer, those hits to the body hurt far more. Those acts would hurt much more than the Greene thing. How much did they get fined? $1,500.
