Both had their worst riding days in a long, long, LONG time.
Rawiller butcher job #1: He got Haradasun alot further back than Vasil wanted him and three wide the trip from a decent barrier.
Rawiller butcher job #2: He had Casual Pass in a nice position at the top of the straight, 6 horses off the inside easing to the outside to make a run. Somehow he ended up along the inside and the horse was flying. Wouldn't have won but it would have at least pipped Aqua d'Amore given a clear passage.
Childs butcher job #1: Victory Chant was fighting him like anything and instead of letting it run, he held it up...now fair enough, that was probably to instruction, but if the horse is fighting you and wants to run, why not let it? It'd obviously be happier under those circumstances.
Childs butcher job #1: He started digging into Marasco with the whip at the 600 metre mark even though he was travelling smoothly rather than easing it into the race. As a result, his run peaked at the 100m (he was going past Pompeii Ruler) and he was beaten a head.
Make no mistake about my disgust, I was only on one of them (Marasco)...but from the analysis I've done afterwards, they both rode absolute shockers today.
