They should have played a 5 league comp and give ultima the best chance of succeeding in the central murray. The board was weak, why have a board if they can't make tough decisions. All this board does is say its too hard and sits on the fence
I agree Trent, it reeks of a spineless board not willing to make a call that would challenge the status quo and instead relying on maybe another club folding/merging in the meantime and then come to same end result in 12-24 months anyway. But this way they will be able to say "it wasn't our fault." I feel for Ultima as I'm not sure what more they could have done. At what point does AFL Vic do a review of country football clubs/leagues because we are well overdue, especially in the Central and Northern regions
Yep ultima will be 10 goals better than any other side next year anyway in the golden rivers. Let them go up and build their club after winning now whilst they've got momentum. Another year they will lose kids potentially to a swan hill club. A 5 team league would be fine and cut hays travelling too. And it gives the other clubs still 12 months to come up with a plan, let's hay get into picola, Moulamein find a merge partner and wandella, murrabit and macorna to find a league
