The general consensus on here is that; "yes, we want him...But no I don't want to pay too much for him." I think this is a handy bit of recruiting by Jackson.. I mean we were keen on Sherman (apparently) and there was talk our 2nd rounder was being floated, however, I see Grigg as a similar type of player and someone we can get through the PSD or a pick 40+. Being that it's Carlton, I would like PSD to occur, so they get sweet f*** all!! :)
Out of Sherman, Grigg and Houli (all rumoured), I would much prefer Grigg who was best out of them last year.

If we can add an end of 1st round pick for Bling and a third rounder for Thursty, we could go into the draft with:

Grigg, Pick 6, Pick ~25, Pick ~30, Pick ~47, Pick ~55, Pick ~65
minus Tambling + Thursfield

Don't really care about Thursfield or Tambling. Would be content with Grigg for Thursfield and Houli PSD. I believe they can both be good players.

Grigg really isn't that bad a player.

He looks alright,,, when Carlton are dishing it out.

When they are getting done he gets a bit 'lost at sea'

But if we can get him cheap im all for it!

There's not too many ouside players/recievers/buffalo girls that dont go missing when the inside players are not doing their job.

Players that can play both roles effectively are pretty rare.

not jackson apparently he has no say when it comes to trades, well according to the defenders of all things jackson over at oer.

No he quit school and moved to Sydney to work 10 hour days with his Dad. He'd never played football on a serious level (TAC) until the end of 2008 one year before being drafted.

And on the Rising star we all know if Martin was eligible he would of won comfortably.

ahk cheers for clearing that up.. yeah martin would have won but Rich won the RS last year and i doubt most would have considered him CLEARLY the best under 20 player in the comp

Grigg will be a great player for our club Bazzar. Remind me to chuv it down your throat when you are blowing smoke up his arse next year. Start watching games of footy other than Richmond games mate you might learn something.

I like what you have to say the whole way thru!

I'm not really sure why grigg wasnt getting a game at the blues, pre season 09 he looked the next big thing then suffered a bit from injuries through the year and never solidifyed his spot, injured this year then came in rd 14 maybe and was in our best every week he played this year!

It seems he has a bit of an attitude problem with being told what to do & I say he played magoos because of it! Im not really happy with our team management at the moment & think it needs a good overhaul. He is definitely a part of our best 22 & would easily be the same in yours.

He is a great size, fearless & a ball magnet & can run the lines & has great dash.

Downside his kicking can be erratic especially with helicopters into the 50 & as i said his attitude. Definitely only a left sided player & wheels around on to it regularly. Sound skills with short passes, decent overhead.

I think he is almost to confident which comes across maybe as arrogant? I never liked this side of him!

I think a fesh start & good coaching would see very good results with griggamortis! best of luck with him!

For the record Gibbs, i just read your "supporters" forum on Griggs - it's the read of the year. Maybe Griggs can see a better coach and a more settled club? As for some of your posters bagging Richmond for pursuing an uncontracted player (who has requested to come to us), maybe they should delve a little into Carltons history. They then might just realise what a piece of shit club yours really is both currently and historically.

best post ive read today lol.

If he has some "attitude" problems, forget it.. RFC needs no distractions now that Cuz has left. From what i've seen, read & heard he's not worth giving up pick(s) for, but if some trade deal could be done then maybe... What worries me is when you get Carlscum posters in here talking him up... Like we're meant to trust their opinion.... pffft

Grigg is an odd one, last year he looked like a player who was going to emerge as a really high class player on the back of some class games.

This year he missed the 1st half of the season (Wasn't selected to play) for whatever reason and then when he did come in he looked like a fish out of water for a couple of games before he settled down into his role and play some decent footy.

I'd say he is worth about what we paid for him, a pick around 20. He has developed ok and should show his worth next year, however being out of contract & nominating Richmond I expect him to go to the PSD being the tigers are likely to offer a 3rd rounder which is a flat out joke.

There could be a player we might be interested in that you might give up though.

lol, there is 44 players on the ave AFL list and you expect every player on our lists "attitude" to be perfect, some of you people need to get a life

Whatever happens, make sure you bend Carlton over a barrel and thrust deeply as you can, if anything can knock some sense into a Blues supporter base totally disconnected from reality during trade week it's getting reamed by Richmond while being unable to do anything except say "Please sir may I have another" Kevin Bacon style :thumbsu:

lol, if we end up with grigg through the psd the carlton board will explode, they are already going rabid over the fact that a player would consider leaving carlton. :D

Without Pratt around it seems that alternate income streams are drying up for the players, boohoo:p

Heard a rumour that since Dick Pratts death they have run out of these.

Lol... i have seen him and he is at best a second tier player. No idea where you get the opinion he is some sort of class act.

Thank God Bazzar, I was starting to think it was just me. Just because you compare this dud against our duds doesn't make him a superstar. The bloke can't kick properly on his natrual foot, doesn't kick at all on his right and is not not the best decision maker BUT that's okay because
1. he is a good athlete
2. he is better than McMuffin, Hislop. Thomson, etc

Well feel free to "shove it down my throat as well" if I am wrong but to me he is a spud. Sure a better spud compared to some of ours but a spud none the less.

PS - Why is we aren't drafting kids who can't kick but we our trade targets are players like Sherman & Grigg ? Just wondering..............

lets see if any of our picks are traded first, we have a player that wants to leave and possibly a few we dont know about, has been stated 8 players will be gone, we can trade them outright if any other club takes the deal offered, but, no picks can go they must stay, if dimma trades our picks in trade bundles i will be dissappointed too

1 sherman 2 grigg 3 bachar. would take all 3 b 4 jackson = hack and tambo

I'd be happy if we just take sherman. Midsized forward is what we need most considering we only have Taylor and Hicks. We really should be going for youth over players who can't get a game at other clubs. We hardly need players such as Grigg, Houli or Miller when you think we could be getting an 18 year old instead. Even as a rookie, that means Miller might get elevated which sounds wrong. We are way too keen in this trade week.

I personally dont rate Griggs and would hope the Tigers used their PSD pick on a higher quality player

IMO Griggs is a very lazy footballer who quite simply just does not want to do the work

there is no excuses for this bloke, he should have been in Carlton's best 22 however instead of rolling his sleeves up to make their best 22 he has taken an easy cop out and walked out on the club to chase what he believes is an easy opportunity

approach with caution
