A classic...hit him like a truck...ironed him out...BUT !!!

This hit might get a lot of press during the week coz its been a big talking point thru the media recently....personally i thought it was legal and the footy animal in me loves seeing hits like that.....but will it be used as the 2006 test case for bumps ?

Saw a replay of it and thought Dal Santo was brilliant....he knew who was coming at him and what would happen...still kept his head over it and disposed perfectly. Even came back on after 1 minute and got 21 quality touches.

On replay u may argue it caught him high
Was it premeditated & deliberately trying to take out an opposition gun ?
Was it dangerous from front on ?
How did u see it ?....Suspension ?
Was it a cheap shot ?

Luckily it just ironed him out, but it could be argued that it may have been dangerous.

I thought it was cowardly. Guerra knew Dal Santo wouldn't be able to protect himself fully. Guerra turned his body and raised his arm to his head to protect himself from pain, and if he had connected with an elbow or forearm it could have got ugly.

Pointless act of aggression which only served to stir the Saints. Guerra was useles afterwards. Dal Santo wasn't.

He left the grd and hit high. Suspension.

Good chance he'll get saddled with a month or more with his record....IF they deem it dangerous.

It shapes up as a tuff one for the tribunal....we dont wanna see big hits disappear....but it was fairly front on ...and thats what they were claiming they would crack down on.

When i saw the replay tho i reckon Dal Santo MUST have known what was about to happen to him.

Late and high and with his record very undiscipilined.

Didnn't do any damage and sparked the Saints with Dal Santo being one of the Saints best.

Reason why Guerra was dumped by Port then the Saints. Is lazy and can only put on hits.

A very very poor mans Byron Pickett (who can actually play).

Bump itself was nothing except stupid.

I reckon it was hilarious, those same Saints morons who whinged about it were cheering him doing it not that long ago :p

and in other news Nick Davis is no good.

I've only seen it once so I haven't really looked at it properly, but it looked fine to me? Do you have any pics of the incident?
No soz I don't, watched the replay a couple of times, he and others have been been done for the same thing so I guess he will get about 3 weeks minimum, taking into account his history.
Personally I like the good bumps but we are talking about what the Umps like atm.

If he connected with an elbow?

He didnt! So that point is completely useless.

Has Guerra ever put his head over the ball. I've never seen it. However, I have seen him opt out of a contest on more than one occasion rather than put his body on the line.

Another day and i still dont know how they will view this hit....either 0 or 6 weeks depending if they see it as dangerous.

Dal Santo had his head down i guess....fairly front on....but the contact was legal i thought.

Crunching hit tho....it'll make the highlights reels for awhile.

Shouldnt lose sight of the ticker shown by Dal Santo....he musta known it was Guerra coming and what would happen.
