Funnily enough, ours have degraded as the population has grown. Gone from a decent meat pie to a slightly undercooked, slightly thicker gravy sort of pie as pushing out.
Then similarly you go down to the Chinese grocer and pick up 10kg of rice for nothing but a slight lean in the end. Bloody cuisine changes!

Preseason Hitout - Las Vegas Summer International
Two from two over the weekend, boys! Sure, they were losses but we've shaken some rust out and we'll be better for the hitouts. There were some good performances from our side - snozulu kicked four goals and Brick Loosener collected 20 disposals against the Bears while peterss turned back the clock with an impressive 23 dispoasls, six marks and five tackles against the Dragons.
The season proper kicks next Sunday with a home game against the Wonders. Match threads should be up tomorrow night or Tuesday. Come along, get involved and let's see if we can get a win for haydo and okeydoke7 against their old mob.
If anyone has a position they'd like to try, please let haydo or myself know. Preference will be given to those who get involved so get amongst it.

“Can I be in?”
Those were the first words in an illustrious Sweet FA career that has spanned twenty seasons so far.
peterss nominated himself to join the WA State of Origin team back in 2007 and it would be nearly a full year before he signed up for a Sweet FA club. The West Coast Wonders picked him up for season 8 and immediately peterss announced himself as a media contributor, announcing his own signing.
peterss quickly became frustrated at the Wonders, expressing himself via his media. He decided to stay with the Wonders for season 9 however after 34 games he swapped navy and gold for navy and cobalt by joining the Geelong Gumbies.
Geelong Gumbies captain and Hall of Famer, krisholio14, immediately added peterss to the Gumbies’ leadership group as a deputy vice captain. In his first game for the Gumbies, peterss was named at centre to take on his old side, the Wonders, in round 1 of season 10 and would go on to collect 13 disposals and six tackles in a ten point loss. peterss earned his first All-SFA selection in season 10, being named on the interchange bench.
In season 11, peterss was named as a vice captain however the sudden mid-season retirement of another Gumbies’ legend, Ninty, saw him elevated to the captaincy from round 12. peterss would go on to win the Catman Medal as the Geelong Gumbies’ Best & Fairest for season 11 and was named to his second All-SFA side, this time at ruck rover.
peterss’ involvement with the league peaked in season 12 culminating in him winning the Frankston Rover award for contributions to the league as judged by season 12 admin, boncer34. He also started a website for the Geelong Gumbies (now defunct) and made his third consecutive All-SFA side, being named on a half forward flank, as well as being named captain of the side.
Season 13 saw peterss make his fourth successive All-SFA side, being named on a half back flank, his final nomination to date. peterss’ next major achievement was to play in and co-captain the Geelong Gumbies to the season 16 premiership, the club’s only flag to date.
At the season 16 Best & Fairest presentation, peterss announced the introduction of the Geelong Gumbies Hall of Fame and was one of four inaugural inductees alongside Ninty, winty and krisholio14.
In season 17, ClarkeM called peterss out in a media piece for inactivity and penalties handed out to the club. This piece generated a lot of discussion around the league and despite peterss’ and the Gumbies’ protestations that everything was fine, peterss stood down as captain after 107 games and six season as skipper.
peterss’ activity slowly fell away through seasons 18 and 19 yet he still contributed by creating a Facebook page (also now defunct) for the newly rebranded Geelong Wolves. He barely posted between seasons 20 and 25 despite remaining on the Wolves’/Gumbies’ list however the past couple of seasons has seen a slight resurgence from the former captain.
Unfortunately we missed peterss’ 300th match as a Gumby, which came in round 14 against the Baghdad Bombers. peterss’ lined up in a forward pocket and kicked 0.6 in ten-point Gumbies win.
This weekend marks peterss’ 305th game as a member of the Geelong Gumbies/Geelong Wolves/Gumbies FFC. He is the all-time games played record holder for the Gumbies by quite a margin.

Purely coincidental that the league grew when we were "relevant" and has constricted when you were "dominant" I am sure, it's just an aberration that we're better, and the fact the club still exists despite your constant protestations to the contrary is not a reflection of just how poor you are at this qootying.
Especially so considering you have NFI about what pete did and does, like a good ex co-captain of a merged rebranded rabble of a club no one gave a damn about where crowie was the better part of the duo.

Peterss was the worst captain in the history of the Sweet FA. That's not even opinion, it's just fact.
He did nothing and paraded in prime positions while not posting and sat back to reap the rewards until he was finally called out on it and he squibbed and handed the captaincy over 4 seasons too late.
The West Coast Wonders are not a merged club. You should do some research.

Post Match - Round 1 v West Coast Wonders
A tough hitout first up saw us go down to the Wonders by 25 points at home. Most of the damage was done in the first quarter as the Wonders got out to a 19-point lead at quarter time and we spent the rest of the afternoon playing catch up. Some good signs though - Ned Ryerson led all Gumbies in Dream Team points with 83 on debut and we beat the Wonders in disposals and hitouts and dominated the free kick count. Tackles killed us though so find someone to hug this week because we want to improve in this area next week.
On the posting front, ten people posted at least five times in the match thread up to the end of the match which is a really solid effort. Well done all!
