would gumby plus our second be worth freo first round

It may come close.

Depends if Freo are desperate for a KPF (IMO, given Lyon is their coach, not overly) and whether they rate Gumbleton + a mid with questions over a Jaksch or Paparone.

Also, obviously, dependent on whether medical staff believe he has finally overcome any injury concerns.

Wouldn't be surprised, given Essendon's trade history, that they'll baulk at any realistic deal presented.

Gumbleton + Pears for second round pick and a choice of Suban, Ibbotson, Pitt, Roberton

Gotta love how the biased supporters come in anyway.

Pick in the 40-55 range outright.

If swapping picks maybe something that shifts an Essendon pick circa 50 down into the 30s.

Freo can afford to take it or leave it, Essendon might want to offload him to reduce their risk profile. Therefore Freo would be in the commanding position.

Freo's 2nd pick will probably be after mid 30's.

Second round starts at 22?, Richmond have a compo pick after Port's 2nd rounder, so that pushes it towards about 34-35.

I imagine St Kilda would get a first rounder for Goddard for compensation, and maybe a couple of others. Teams losing uncontracted players to GWS may also get early 2nd rounder compensation, pushing it towards almost 40.

So I reckon Freo's 2nd rounder will be about right, especially because Freo will have 16 and 21 (approximately, not entirely sure but they have a end of first round comp pick) so they will be happy with 2 good kids from that, and look to use late picks after that imo.

Pears is on the trade table too... Perhaps he can be packaged with Gumby to the Dockers for something.. A player and a 3rd rounder?
