Since Collingwood, Port and Brisbane are certain to make the finals, we ideally want Fremantle, Carlton and Melbourne to respectively lose to them this weekend. Also Gold Coast to beat St Kilda, and West Coast to beat Richmond in Optus. I can’t see the latter happening, but the other results are all possible
Losses to fremantle and Carlton make it a long way back for them.
If Melbourne lose they are back in the fight as well.

If Melbourne lose, and we beat Adelaide, we will amazingly be just one win (and percentage) away from fourth spot, with 6 games left! Given we were 3-7 after our St Kilda loss, this would be truly wondrous. Anyway the next 24 hours will inform us if we can continue to dream for another week 😛

Brisbane losing to Melbourne wasn’t the ideal result, but in the end won’t matter as Melbourne were going to make the finals anyway, regardless of the outcome last night. Melbourne has games against Norths and Hawthorn, and 3 home MCG games against Adelaide, Richmond and Carlton.

Agree. They are all but certain now. It was a very slim chance that we'd run them down.

9-8 and if we beat Gold Coast at our Manuka home ground, we will be in the final 8. We will be heavy favourites to beat Gold Coast, and make it (equal) club record 6 consecutive wins in a row.

Kingsley has got the team playing brilliantly. We should sign him long term as his contract expires in 2025, and Adam looks like the coach who will take us to our inaugural premiership

The ball is in our court for the run home.

vs Gold Coast
@ West Bulldogs (in Ballarat)
vs Sydney
@ Port Adelaide
vs Essendon
@ Carlton

Nearly every remaining game is a must win.
I think 3 and 3 makes it. (But not definitely)
4 and 2 is probably a home final

Yes. It’s so close and all remaining matches are against final contenders (except for Port who will certainly make finals), a win for us will magnify the impact on the finals qualification.

Unfortunately Richmond, Carlton and St Kilda should win against Hawks, Eagles and Norths respectively. Hard to see an upset in these 3 games. But Brisbane and Melbourne are expected to beat Geelong (in Gabba) and Adelaide (MCG) respectively, which will help our finals prospects.

Hawks are a punchers chance to knock off Richmond.
Saints are awful right now.
Although the faves should win, it wouldn't shock me to an upset.
Geelong v Brisbane is a ripper.
Geelong are no sure things to get there with their run home (although I suspect they make it)

The Kangaroos are leading the Saints at half time, but I fear like Hawthorn yesterday they won’t close the deal. Great for us if St Kilda lose.

Also Adelaide coming back, but Melbourne hopefully are too good a team to choke
