Don't get conned by the stats,
I saw the game live, I've watched the whole replay and am watching it again right now. I've seen nothing that makes Parker any more than a better than average midfielder (who does nothing when the going gets tough).

The commentators love him, though.

;)

Young Burton I think sums it up well here.

Burton admitted that keeping his composure in such a tight contest is difficult, but said having cool heads such as retiring champion Luke Hodge helps the inexperienced defensive group stay in control.

"Whether it's in a big game or not, he doesn't shut up, which is really good for us young defenders," he said.

Hodgey's leadership (and Gibbo's for that matter) will be dearly missed next year, so I watch with interest seeing these younger fellas leadership skills develop. Watching Brand stepping up to the plate in the last couple weeks, whether it's a quiet word with Sis or taking no nonsense from the opposition, has been a delight. The lad has 'leader' written all over him.
Glass has already taken over hodge's role
He has a hell of a footy brain, and hopefully can develop into. 20posession a game half back

I'll reserve judgement on Glass, however, I was more referring to the vocal leader down back who offers these kids direction, on field coaching, encouragement and will stand up for them in the heat of battle.

i wish shooey showed more of tonights stuff before we wasted bucks on vickery

He would've if he wasn't getting dropped every other week. This year has proven that guys need a few games in a row to get settled and to perform well.

Burto has a massive man-crush on Hodgey. Manages to mention him in basically every interview he does. Love it.

He is wearing the right jumper for the MRP get out jail free card
They play the real love children next week so wouldn't surprise a few swans get suspended. Slobbo already trying to get buddy suspended.

****en idiot and his teammates actually plan to talk trash and target opposition players but can't take a bit back.

He reacted to being kissed the first time by giving a free kick away. Langford's tactic worked. Deal with it, dickhead.

As a horrid athlete but A-grade sledger I absolutely loved what Langford did. If Sydney want to keep hosting the Pride Gane maybe McVeigh needs to stop being so angry at a bloke kissing him.

Umpires call was that it was a goal.

Review didn't provide conclusive evidence that it should be over-turned.

What is it, exactly, that he wanted to happen?

I agree with you - I always feel like any 50/50 will go in our opponent's favour: 90/10.

I didn't see his feedback, but from the above, I assume that he wanted people to side with him & over-rule the judge that was less than 2m away, despite the technology not supporting his desired outcome.

I live in Perth. Pilot's call is that it takes me 3.5 hours to get to Melbourne. I'd really like technology to over-rule that & to make it a 2.5hr flight; &, from my coach's box (see: couch, with google), I can support my perspective. Would he agree?
He wants better technology to remove the doubt over the decisions. Basically saying to the AFL spend more money. And Clarkson agrees, he noted that we got shafted last week in the Freo game.

What a beat up. McVeigh is as soft as they come and anyone trying to beat this up (even read some clown Swans supporters calling it assault) is having a laugh.

His efforts in the 2014 GF should haunt him for the rest of his days. Next time Langford should just remind him of that.

Jones acts like a complete moron and looks like he'd battle to string two words together.

Having said that there's no denying that he's a quality player, I do love how he takes the game on.
He's a total dick and his tough guy efforts all fell completely flat last night.

we dominated last 15 mins of 3rd quarter too, but couldn't convert.
I really thought that was going to cost us. Couldn't understand why we kept on trying to take set shots from the one pocket when it was obvious the wind was making it impossible. Thought it would have been better to look for another option or set-up defensively to lock it in and put it to the top of the square.
