Reid and Allen could both end up and Essendon. I’m sure Oscar could picture himself in a fwd line alongside kako and caddy and potentially see himself as Merrett successor.
Essendon has a plenty of cap space and could match any opposition offers.

Just following this up his also restricted which means draft capital dont think we can have the cake and eat it too if you get what i mean

Seems pretty obvious that eagles are borderline forcing him out, they are rebuilding and he is surplus, if another club offers a band 1 compo offer they will take the top 3 pick and run (won’t force a trade). They have young kpf they can blood, they don’t need him on a long term contract with his knees. For a team like brissy or hawks in the window needing a kpf then they can take the chance on a good player while giving up no assets.

I mean i would love us to throw our hats in the ring as Peter Wright was a flash in the pan and we still lack a KF but Hawks and Brissy are way more attractive currently you could not blame him for weighing up either of the two

He’s got a connection with Sam from 2017-18 as well, likewise you guys have the connection with Harley as he played in your vfl pre draft so I’m sure he has a few connections at the bombers, with your draft hand and cap space you guys are probably front runners.

i mean it would be a fantastic get for us even as a list perspective our current "KF" is Sam Draper i mean i would be happy if it worked but i have my doubts

It would be hard to see him leaving WA though as well

would be under consideration that's for sure either way it goes West Coast get to keep a great KF or let him go and get more picks in before the compromised drafts of Tassie come in

Nah we have a glut of tall forwards and would prioritise developing them over bringing in a guy who would be 30+ by the time we contend again. We need more mids and runners.

Apparently Essendon is firming as a likey suitor, and they have two first rounders this year and next year's, which you would think they would have to give up.

Essendon and West Coast are the only clubs that don't do contracts with increases. That's how Essendon have a large salary cap space. It's why Essendon will likely offer a higher amount per year than other clubs.

I would add Richmond to that list as we only have kids or old players that are due to come out of contract in the next 2 years apart from Balta that just signed last year for the rest of his career

If the AFL wants to give priority picks to Richmond(they do) then theyll have to give the Eagles something big, in order to hide the favouritism for their big Vic club when they hand out the first 4 picks of the draft to Richmond next year

You shouldn’t be rewarded / compensated for making bad decisions. You should have to correct bad decisions with good ones, not get it handed back on a platter for you

I honestly could not care less, whatever happens, happens. If he stays, great. If not, we will get fair compensation, move on.

I just always find the humour in the contradictions of people demanding sources for one claim, then on the other hand spread further rumours without any solid sources.

At the end of the day, we haven't heard anything out of the Harley Reid camp. All this innuendo and speculation based on nothing except "well he's from Victoria soooo....."
