Was watching the replay today. His timing on his leap is really impressive for a gangly kid. He unfurls himself to his full height at just the right millisecond.

That first 1 is a better mark but the second was more important. A spoil would have gone to a dangerous position and led to a goal.

Gee the ceiling on this kid is exciting to think about. Especially as it is his 4th game, iirc.
He shouldn't even be in the seniors atm, he should be in the reserves for another 2/3 years. Looks like we will be pumping games into him to fastrack him.

I know it is unrealistic and unreasonable to expect him to do that every week, but l feel that he should/could get 1/2 contested marks a game, especially if he stays down back. Stoked he is a QLD kid as well, no homesickness.

In the first gif credit has to go to Paparone for attempting to block for Andrews.

Haha the first couple of times I read this I missed the "for" and thought you wrote that he was blocking Andrews, so I rewatched the gif several times. He really did do a good job of first taking a better line at the ball than Armfield, so Armfield dropped off, and then got right in front of ??? so they couldn't get a clear run to the ball and would have had to mark over Paps - giving Andrews' better arm reach a chance to come into the marking contest instead of just being spoiled from behind.

Harris Andrews happy to be thrown in deep end for Lions

MOST first-year players will have that moment when they are left pinching themselves, figuratively speaking.

For 18-year-old Harris Andrews it came in his fourth game for the Brisbane Lions last week when his team was taking on Carlton at Etihad Stadium.

"There was a point at the weekend when I was marking Juddy for a little bit," he told APN yesterday in reference to Blues champion Chris Judd.

"There was a split second there where I was like 'oh, Juddy's there', but I had to just get my mind back into the game and back on the job."

Sneaky RS nomination chance tonight? Backed up his excellent game with a good outing. From the top of my head not much competition this week...
Doubt it, l think he would need 1 really good game full of contested and intercept marks rather than 2/3 decent games. If he was a pick 6 instead of 66, he might have got it last week.

We can all see his star potential so at the end of the day, l don't care if he gets a RS nom or not. He is ours and there is no "go home" with him.

You'd think. Has made genuine contributions in 2 wins.

Who has good in the other games? Mr. Gregson from the Cats? De Goey was ok. There isn't anyone else sticking out in my mind and they both played in losing teams.

Like last week against Carlton? If it wasn't for Gregson last week he woould have got it, big chance this week with Robertson.

Gee when are these guys going to get their fingers out and reward Harris with a Rising Star nomination, pretty evident these muppets only rely on stats or small moments of brilliance (ie Lonies ripper goal).

He's held two of the premier forwards in the game to minimal impact (while he was on them anyway), playing as a 1st year defender, tremendous effort and should be getting more plaudits

Rising Star nomination chance this week against Melbourne. Got the feeling he was next in line after Dom Sheed anyway.
