Adelaide captain Tex Walker joined Triple M Adelaide this morning and relayed one of the weirder stories you’re likely to hear from the footy oval.

Following the Crows’ triumphant win over fellow top four opponent Geelong, Tex revealed the strange encounter Josh Jenkins had with veteran Cats swingman Harry Taylor during their post-game handshake.

“I wasn’t there when it actually happened,” Tex told Roo & Ditts.

“But JJ filled me in that when he shook Harry Taylor’s hand, there was a slice of ham in there.”

Yes, you read the correctly.

Taylor tried pranking his opponents by slipping a piece of ham into his palm before partaking in the post-game handshakes.

Tex revealed that it probably was a reference to Jenkins falling ill in Melbourne the following week due to a dodgy ham sandwich.

Well that escalated quickly.

Id be giving him a week off to have a good think about whether his heart is in it anymore.

If you lose you come awat
Take a chill pill buddy. It's a game.

No worries lets just let the comp fall into a "just a game" lets give everyone a medal, declare everyone winners and tell each other that just trying is good enough.

Wake up and see the reality- the game is turning soft and it is more about marketing individuals now than giving a crap about the team.

Its all about the $$$ like in the US.

Good to see Harry Taylor not giving a **** about the result. Maybe cats fans have lower standards for their team but a loss like that doesnt lend itself to jokes.

Id be fuming if I knew a crow was making jokes after the reverse fixture earlier.

Half the reason you cant find a player with heart anymore is that they stopped caring about results and just want to take the paycheques. Or hold midweek"all about me" pressers.

Thanks AFLPA for striving for those safe spaces for all players. Its turning into U12s where noone cares about the score.

Give me strength.

If it was Motlop I might agree with you but Taylor was good that night and tries his hardest every week. I think you are looking at this a bit too strongly. Taylor is just a bit of a weird fellow

I hope you're not a parent who shouts "encouragement" toward your child from the boundary.

You need to relax

I say nothing during their matches.

Their games arent the AFL. They arent being paid big bucks. I dont even mind they dont score. Ordinary people arent investing membership dollars or paying for admission.

Your comparison is deluded.

Meh. If the result of the game went the other way, it would be considered a playful act of sinking the boot into a Crows side that had chalked up yet another loss to Geelong.

Correct. If Geelong had won it wouldve been appropriate.

Hence why it wouldve been entirely appropriate for Greenwood to smack Danger in the face with a set of crutches because we won.
