It's amazing how much perception of a player can change on Bigfooty. Here are Dusty's numbers for 2011 and 2012:

2011: 14.1 kicks, 8.0 handballs, 22.1 disposals, 3.6 marks, 3.3 tackles, 33 goals, 14 behinds
2012: 12.8 kicks, 9.5 handballs, 22.4 disposals, 3.2 marks, 3.0 tackles, 23 goals, 23 behinds

After 2011 he was the best young player in the league. Comparisons to Judd and Lethal were being thrown around. Non-Richmond supporters were raving about how much of a better prospect he was than Cotchin. 12 months and a few rumours later and now he is (in his third year) disappointing and in danger of not fullfilling his potential. Also will be lucky to still be on an AFL list in 12 months.

Huge change in opinion over 12 months due to one season of stagnation (not decline). The difference this year was that his goal kicking accuracy was off.

As for the question I can't call it. Probably not Ziebell though which is sad because I had him as one of the three best young players going around back in 2009 along with Cotchin and Dangerfield.

You're right. It is funny how perception changes. Statistically 2012 was JZ's best season. I certainly have Martin and shuey ahead of him on performance to date. I can't see how you could argue Hartlett is ahead of him to date however.

Ziebells second youngest on the list and plays by far the least amount in terms of time on ground due to his much discussed poor fitness.

It will be an interesting thread to watch over the years. All are quality.

Did he end up breaking both legs or was it the same leg twice? But yeah he's certainly done more than Hartlett so far, but he too has had injuries.

I'd go for Shuey or Martin on quality output so far, but a injury free Hartlett has the most talent, flare and potential. So assuming this, I'll go Hartlett.

Tough one because two of them have so much potential.

Right now I would pick - Shuey >>> Martin > Hartlett > Zieball

On potential - Martin > Hartlett >>> Shuey >>>>>>>>>.Zieball

The trouble is there's a pretty good chance that for whatever reason Hartlett or Martin don't end up making. Whereas with Shuey its pretty much certain he's going to be an elite 200 gamer

Took you 2 days, keep up.

It's funny because looking at the poll results (and most of the opinions including mine), he is bang on target.

Other than his courage, Ziebell has nothing that separates him for the majority of footballers, and can only display that quality if he gets to the contest, which isn't as often as the average player as his speed and endurance is poor.

I am not sure you are aware of his posting history but ignorance is bliss.

Dont worry mate im a "TROLL" because i dont think Ziebell is gonna be the next big thing in the AFL:rolleyes:

Even though my opinion on this poll is shared by most im the one in the wrong:rolleyes:

On output, can't really split Martin or Shuey. Maybe Martin (bias aside) just, due to his ability to be so damaging when resting forward. Hartlett on potential could surpass both. Just needs a good run at it.

No no it's more to do with your quite obvious hatred (or whatever you want to call it) of all things relating to North. It comes off quite pathetic and adds nothing to the discussion but maybe that's just me.

In this case Ziebell has probably shown the least to the wider AFL community to demonstrate that he'll be the best but then two broken legs hinders your development a bit. To say all that he has above other footballers is his courage pretty lazy and well wrong in my opinion. In his first game this year against the reigning premier he was flat out balling (to steal an American expression); 27 disposals 9 marks 7 inside 50s and 4 goals. Not bad for a player with only courage on his resume. He was also one of very few who could hold his head up high after the elimination final last year.

Shuey is the safest bet to make it big and be elite.

But the other 3 could all be better (obviously, they could also be nowhere near) but they have question marks over them, the largest of which is over Ziebell. Hartlett is probably the most talented imo, Martin the most damaging.

But I think I'll stick with Shuey.
