Autopsy Has the game gone past certain coaches like Alistar Clarkson and John Longmire?

One of those coaches has made 2 grand finals in the last 3 years , to say the game has gone past him is insane .

You could say that Sydney possibly need a change of voice in the dressing room but to suggest the game has gone past a coach that has made 2 GF’s in 3 years is still insane

The idea of football is to win flags, if you get flogged in a GF twice in 3 years, once when you were favourite, there's something wrong with the coaching tactics.

I look at North Melbourne and their current playing list. There isnt a lot there to work with. Clarkson can only do so much with that Squad.

I personally dont think Longmire isnt a bad coach.
You can bag him out to a Degree after the 2012 flag.
Port fans are hurling abuse at Ken Hinkley too. I dont think he is a bad coach either.
Longmire has Guided the swans to 4 grand finals since the end of 2012 or the start of 2013. Ken Hinkley has guided Port to 4 prelim finals in that same time frame.

People have every right to bag Longmire for his record on GF day , thsts fine.
I also have no issues with other Swans fans wanting to move Longmire on as he has taken this group as far as he can , that’s different to the game passing him by though .
It doesn’t say much about the other coaches in the league if the game has apparently gone past Longmire but he guided his team to top of the ladder and a grand final.

You can bag John Longmire for his team choking on grand finals.
But only 2 coaches get to a grand final each season. Since He was appointed at the end of 2010, the Swans have been in a few grand finals under the current coach. 2012, 2014, 2016, 2022 and 2024. If Justin Longmire can be a coach that can make a grand final, you need to think why the 16 other coaches cant make it each season.
Longmire, No, Poor record in GF's, but he gets there and has developed the likes of Warner, Mills, Heeney, Florent, Rowbottam and Gulden.
Clarkson, Undecided, North were poo when he got there, and are poo still with a few young gems Sheezel and Wardlaw.
He has also had to contend with the racism investigation from Hawthorn. Then again so did Chris Fagan.
He was going to attract players, that appears not to have happened.
He is going nowhere though, they had new coaches, young coaches, old coaches even a cross dressing coach.

70% winning record, 4 finals campaigns and 2 grand finals appearancea over the past 4 years, but no flag? 'I reckon the game has gone past him'
If you look at Sydney's record over that time they don't so much have a grand final problem as a MCG problem, but thats understandable given they are optimised to play games at the vastly different looking SCG. And if the game has gone past Longmire, **** knows what that means for the multitude of coaches who have nothing like his record in recent years.

I think I can debate about this bit. Sydney has a good habit of making grand finals. I do respect that.
Yes the swans won a flag at the MCG under John Longmire in 2012. But that isnt the only MCG finals win the swans have got under John Longmires coaching era.
Sydney won a prelim in 2016 vs the Cats. Swans Kicked 7.2.44 to 0.5.5 in te 1st quarter. Sydney won 15.7.97 to cats 8.12.60.
Swans beat the demons 14.7.91 to Demons 10.9.69 in the 2022 Qualifying final. I think that was more of a case of demons having injuries and going into that game with poor form than the swans being that good.
