Has there been a more eagerly anticipated debut?

Keep in mind I am talking purely for ONE clubs fans.

Has any other player at any other club made a more eagerly anticipated debut then when Joe Daniher makes is? Reality is the kid could be anything from Ackland to Carey but at the moment Essendon's fans hopes are high. The amount of hype and excitement amongst Essendon fans over this kid is extraordinary.

Has any other players debut been so eagerly anticipated amongst his clubs fans? I remember Watts was pretty high.

Keep in mind I'm not asking how good you think he is or will be. Only if a player at your club has generated as much hype amongst your fans before they've even played a game as Joe has amongst Essendon fans.

Highly rated + famous footballing family = hype, lots of it.

The highly rated aspect is why Darcy didn't have anywhere near the same amount of hype. He was never regarded as having the same amount of potential.

Its to hard to tell with Daniher because while on the surface he could be a very very good player we also need to take into account he weighed around 20kg more than most of his opponents in the U18 Championships so he will not have that advantage in the AFL. It took Tom Hawkins ages to figure out how to adapt to the AFL after dominating when he was a teenager against other teenagers.

I'm excited for Daniher. But I have to admit I'm pretty excited about seeing what this Jaeger kid can do. Hype has tempered over him because he was a massive story a year ago. To justify the amount of stuff written about him he'll have to be Ablett and Judd combined.

Agreed, couldn't really care less to be honest. I will keep an eye out for him at Wangarratta next week though if he plays, I'm more interested in Jaegar O'Mearato be honest.

Gosh I hate to sound rude, but, if you are only talking about one club, shouldn't be on that clubs board?
