No, just sh*t teams

Richmond down 10K per game on the 2019 season.
Collingwood down 16K
Carlton down 4K
Essendon down 13K
Geelong down 9K
Even the unbeaten Melbourne are down 4K on 2019 (a year where they finished 17th o_O)

Exciting times.

Did I? The numbers are quite clear, numbers down across the board. Including your own illegitimate team.

Not that you needed to worry about it too much from your basement, but there is a pandemic going on.

Sure it is, you're saying crowd averages are directly affected by the pandemic. They're not.

What evidence do you have to support that numbers are down just due to popularity and not because there is still some trepidation about going to crowded events?

Crowds have been in decline in the AFL-m for about 10 years now, so this is nothing new. The pandemic just accelerated the move towards remote entertainment which was already happening, despite the opening of more seating with the Adelaide Oval, Optus Stadium and a bigger capacity at the Cheat Ground.

Your average shopping centre during the actual pandemic was full, let alone now that there hasn't been a case in Victoria for 3 months. Clearly we're not wary of crowds. The entire time we have seemed overconfident if anything.

Consumer confidence is high, the real estate market is jumping, so people don't even seem short of cash atm.

All signs point to disinterest in AFL-m or a move towards doing things remotely. I know of at least one ISP which recently got rid of limited internet entirely. That's going to have an impact when you can just stream anything legally or illegally without worrying about data limits. Plus TV is getting better all the time. You can't even complain that you can't see the puck in NHL anymore, everything is so high def. Fortunately NHL already has the boutique small crowds that the AFL-m is gravitating towards.

Even the classic conundrum of the AFL clashing with a wedding isn't a problem anymore, people can just stream the thing on their phones in between going to the church and the reception.

These are indeed exciting times.

For you I don't doubt that.

I have been in the UK for 12 years and have never had a data cap. Man how shit.

Q: How are Hawthorn planning on getting back to domination with no priority picks?

Fixed it for you.

With our unparalleled recruiting ability.

We don't need top picks to put together a great side.

Don't forget even Mitchell and Hodge were effectively a second rounder, a trade for Luke McPharlin, and a two year loan of Trent Croad. I think Luke Breust was some kind of rookie selection(one pick after your Allwright). Liam Shiels was a second rounder (one pick after your Tom Gillies). Suckling was a rookie. Duryea was the last pick in his draft. Sewell was a rookie.

You need amazing recuitment to win 3 in a row. :trophy::trophy::trophy:
