I think the list in general is in a really interesting spot.

It has been cut back so hard that the majority of the list are young players and you sort of need to give young players some time to see what they are made of.

I think it would be premature to delist players like Morris and Mitchell who haven't really had a good run at it.

Look at what happened with Dylan Moore. We can't afford to lose players with that potential because we need to meet the mandated number of list changes.

I personally hope we delist the minimum this year so we can continue to have a look at some of these players.

I think we will encourage Chad to find himself a good 3 yr deal somewhere.

I think maximum lunch could look elsewhere with our blessing if ramma comes on.

The next evolution of the list is when Impey and Frost are overtaken.

In trouble for mine in no particular order are

Long
Mitchell
Morris
Jeka
Lynch

Will be bloody hard to make three forced changes this year.
I’d be very surprised if Chad could get a three year deal anywhere given his age and injury history.

His best bet from now on will be rolling one year deals that are heavily performance based.

We are a bottom for side that would literally prefer to play without a kpf than give Kosi a game on present form, no one is trading for that.

My take.

Longs a rookie, but I don’t know if he gets another year with Hustwaite breathing down his neck for the same role.
Can’t see us cutting our big man stocks back to 2 genuine rucks unless Lynch asks for a trade.
Bramble might be in trouble if he can’t make a fist of his game time this year.

I have faith in Mitchell, but he’s a chance to get the chop too.

I think with the shape of our midfield now and with Stephens waiting for opportunity, Worpel would be some sort of chance to be elsewhere next year.
Worpel vacating the #5 for Cmack?

I really rate Jeka and is only 21. Had injuries at the worst possible time the last couple years. Would be in the team if not injured given Kosi's woes. Is a more natural forward than Kosi too.

I don’t think you know about Serongs health if you think that’s a cause for being delisted
you are correct, I don't know. However, he was not showing much in the pre-season from what I read and may not be as highly rated. The illness is really bad timing for him. Depending on the length of lay off and the lost fitness base, he will be a long way behind when he resumes.

Pick 53 in the 21 draft and has not been extended, as far as I know. I just think his illness puts him under pressure.

As I mentioned, we will need to change over 5 or probably 6 spots, which makes it interesting.

Serong is an interesting one. I don’t think his health puts him under pressure but I think where his ceiling is seen to be, probably does.
He was sent rated internally? Looked good in the times I have seen him. Maybe not genuine kpf but got more talent than green and couple play as a foil off of Lewis and maybe ramma.

I’ve not seen anything to suggest he’s more talented than Greene.

I agree with the Boss Coffee man's comments.

Still quite young for a KP player. Would hate to see him mature, have the penny drop, and become a jet at another club. I'm not at the coalface but have seen enough glimpses, from afar, to say don't cut ties just yet ... Have read comments here about his training ethic and I acknowledge that. But, in considering his evolution, he has had moments which have shown that he can complete. He is in the age bracket where mentally boy's become men and attitudes mature, so don't want to put the pen through him just yet. Maybe a one year contract and base rate at the end of the year.

Couldn't see us offering Wingard more than 1 year, so I reckon he'd look elsewhere. Unfortunately the end of 2021 was when we needed to move him on for some value, but he wouldn't agree.

Re: Morris, I quite liked some of his performances last year. Let's see how he goes, but he plays a position we are well stacked in. If he can't secure a spot, he could be in trouble. Similar to Greaves a couple years back who looked alright in a few appearances, was low in the pecking order.

Be nice if we could land a free agent, especially a tall.

The only list change I would make with 100% confidence is to delist Kosi. Unlike some of the others, we've seen enough for me to be completely comfortable with that. With most of the other players listed there'd be a pang of maybe not seeing what they're capable of.

Yup, very little talent. Gets it done on athleticism and desire only.
Unfortunately his game sense is weak as well so can't fully unleash that hunger for a contest with timing and real effect.
I'm actually shocked to see a fella move through junior and now senior footy and look like it's a foreign game he's been thrown in to.

Wouldn't be surprised if he goes for a third or even fourth, we need the points this year.

Morris is only playing in a position we are stacked in because we are playing him as a defender.
He’s played forward until we recruited him

He had some pretty damn good performances for Boxhill as a 19yo, don't think his ceiling is as low as you're suggesting.
I didn’t suggest it was low, I just said I don’t see him as being as talented as Greene.

Well if he doesn't secure a spot in this forward line.... Ultimately he's one of several who will need to have a good year, whatever position he plays.

You've stated previously, before we even drafted Greene, that you don't think he is AFL standard. That seems a pretty low ceiling there.
I think I would’ve said that I thought Greene was a good VFL player. Jury is still out on whether he’s going to establish himself at AFL level. He’s acquitted himself well so far, but I still think he’s shown more than Serong at this stage, and I don’t think that’s too outlandish to suggest at all.

Its not outlandish to suggest that a 25yo with previous experience at AFL level has shown more exposed form than a 20yo with 1 season under his belt. It's the perceived ceiling that's a strange one to me but time will tell.

To put it a different way, Serong is a similar player to Jackson Ross from a few years back and has shown less than he did in his time at the level. We had no qualms about parting with him.

Maybe he'll make it, you never know, but the history of picks that late in the piece suggest that if he is delisted that we'll probably get a similar calibre player with whomever we put in that vacant list spot.
