List Mgmt. Hawk's List Management for 2025

Usually do one of these before the trade period but was caught-up with other stuff this year so here is my post-trade period update! This is what I have at the moment. As you can see, firstly the list is STACKED in terms of talent (which we already knew) but is also pretty close to being completely full as it is. If what I have is correct, then we have 36 primary list, 4 Cat A and 1 Cat B locked in for next year which leaves us with limited options in terms of drafting next month and SSP/MSD in 2025.

If I had to guess, I'd say we are likely to delist-then-rookie one or both of Gunston and/or Breust for flexibility. Regardless, we can only intake a max of 2 players to primary/Cat A list at the moment plus the option of another Cat B player if we want (which I suspect we will re-sign Bennetts with).

As usual, if you spot any mistakes then please let me know :)

Fair concerns.

This is the big upside of us picking up Barrass and Battle is that we can throw some new formations out up forward to help out Dear and Chol, and Hardwick with Battle/Sicily/Weddle rotating through there is something that will be challenging to plan for. We'll also be able to keep guys like Impey, Amon etc playing attacking defensive running roles to help D'Ambrossio. Jiath is also more important than some give him credit for, and if he get get up and running and play at his best would be a formidable combination with Massimo on the wings. Also if MacKenzie breaks out to become a top line midfielder changes our dynamic as well.
Dear is pretty mobile and gets a fair way up the ground. We could get some interesting and unpredictable patterns with Weddle and Battle pushing forward as marking targets at times and Dear pushing back to provide a link from the last line (patrolled by Barrass with support from Scrimshaw and maybe Frost). Great to have that kind of flexibility if Dear is being blanketed.

Expecting The Wizz to be sweeping everything in the F50

When he was drafted and early this season, people questioned his impact.

He is a genuine match winner and his finals were superb. So much so he was looking to carry the team himself in the Port final.

We tried to isolate him 1 on 1 I50 against Port.

That's how high Sammy and co rate him.

With the rumor that we are looking to sign a second Cat B rookie what does that mean for Bennets? An upgrade to the main list or gets delisted?
He can't be upgraded because we have two senior list spots open and that's for our two (mandatory) draft picks.
Haven't heard much about a second CatB rookie anyway - just baseless rumours.

You can have up to 3 Cat B rookies on your list. Bennetts will likely sign a two year extension to stay at the club. We have Jaime Uhr-Henry who is another Category B rookie already on our list, having signed him in August.

If we do end up selecting Matt Hill, who is a Melbourne Storm development player currently playing in the Storm Jersey Flegg side, as a Category B rookie, it means that if we decide to take Codey Anderson, who is our NGA prospect, that we would need to select him in either the main or rookie draft.

aren't list spots capped at 44.

we have 41 now (36+4+1)

So if both Bennetts and Matt Hill go on Cat B, we only take one in draft( still take 2 or 3 picks to main draft but pick only 1 main or rookie) which means Cody at risk.

Surely Cody > Bennetts > Matt Hill

Some decisions will have to be made.

Mods Strapping Young Lad eldorado Can you pls pin the quoted post, so we don't go in circles on who is on list/OOC or who can be signed on.

I know few guys like Ned Ryerson ;) will ignore the top post anyway and will ask these questions but for rest, it will help

Bennetts is already on our list though?
Bennetts is OOC and not on list for 2025 yet. See above quoted post for who is on list.

Just to put things in a nutshell..
Our list size is a maximum of 44. Barring LTI's in-season this is the maximum a club can have going into the season.
We can have a maximum of 6 CatA rookies and a maximum of 3 CatB rookies.
Our Primary list must have between 36 - 38 players and the remainder is made up or your CatA&B's.

We currently have 36 on our senior list and we must use TWO draft picks which will take us to a maximum of 38. Our Primary list will be full (we couldn't upgrade a rookie even if we wanted to)
We also currently have 4 CatA rookies which takes our list to 42.

We're taking JUH as a CatB so our list is now 43 with only one spot left. That means if we recommit to Bennetts we're full and can't take this other rumour floating around (Hill or whoever).
IF we recommit to Bennetts - he's currently OOC and nothing has been said.

That's how it stands right now. Two draft picks and one spot for a CatA or B rookie.

Semantics but ok considering he is still under a HFC contract at this very moment.
It doesn't explain why Cody would be "at risk".

We have 41 currently on the list (including Bennetts) after the delistings and retirements. We will likely only pick 2 players in the draft and add JUH for next season getting us to 44.
To get the minimum 3 picks we can re-rookie Bennetts which counts as a live pick at the draft, pick up Cody, upgrade one of our current rookies and still pick up Hiill as a cat B rookie.
