When you see that stuff, you know they are hurting ;-)
I know. It's hilarious. Poor fella buys the words to their club song. "The greatest team of all"

It should come with a disclaimer.

*May or may not be true.

Yes, there was enormous irony for a team to sing that from 1964 to 2006 & have no success. Comparable to another side singing that the premiership was a cakewalk & only winning two in the past 56 years.

At least 3 times in the second half Frawley would get the ball, run forward then stop, not give off initially, run in a circle then handball to player who gave initial option who is now stationary. Needs to have confidence in his teammates
I noticed too. He was more a Demon than a Hawk and with time he will improve. Was indecisive and slowed the things down a bit but I would not mind as he played a good one...

You can see frawly has come from another team ,he was good ,but would have been a little nervous, i think he can become quicker and beter decisions maker thats one thing that sets the hawks apart and frawly needs to leave what ever part of mebourne is lingering .u can only have nerves for so long .

Well played. Far too good. We were not "the greatest team of all", but always still "play the game as it should be played: - which is more important. :)

Anyway, a question:

Who are your 3 (4,5,6 however many) most vital players? The ones you can't afford to have in the stands.
Lose a soldier, replace a soldier.

But if I had to pick any, I'd say Burgoyne, Lake, Roughead.

Are you thinking of calling out a hit on them? ;-)

No idea.

GO HAWKERS !

Great Poem ... at least you could attempt to make it rhyme. ;)

Lewis was massive,
Ceglar our best ruck.
We didn't play that well,
but who gives a f***?

Make that "but who gives a flying f^*k?" for a slightly better rhythm?

Rough is no 1 and by a fair margin. Everyone else at least more replaceable. I don't know who would replace rough.

Roughy, hodge, gibbo would be the top three.

Like others have said, Roughead, Gibson.. After that there are a lot that I would put in the category of important but not imperative.

Thinking out loud, if Rough missed this weekend (touch wood it doesn't happen) would we play all three ruckmen or bring in Spangher/Schoenmakers?

I heard it was payback for Selwood, apparently Mitchell is a dog player who keeps trying to clothesline Selwood.
Either, Denis or Bruce mentioned early in the game, that Duckwood and Sniper were hitting Mitch with everything. The one Johnson got booked for wasn't the only late one.

No he had not. 8 games for 8 losses.

He's also winless against Hawthorn, North Melbourne & St Kilda.
Well he should adjust that ledger this year.
Loved the fact that at 3/4 time, and after the game, he just couldn't stop smiling. Getting quality players to top up, is something we do well. However, all have been rewarded with the greatest prize; let's hope we can reward Frawley too!

I think if you scan through the thread here, you'll find many names mentioned, which shows we are a well balanced even team, and that's the secret.:)

The attendance yesterday at the G. It seemed very heavily Hawthorn. Like 70-30. Did others see it this way?
I saw it 68-32, but that's because some bonehead in the clubhouse decided navy blue would look great for Hawthorn supporters to wear against a club whose main colour is... navy blue.

Ladies and gentlemen, my avatar.
