Autopsy Hawks vs The Pusscats

I certainly got a strong sense of this sitting high up in the Ponsford, and sitting here watching the replay it's even stronger, we beat them into submission in the 2nd quarter. We chased, tackled, bumped and harassed them so much they couldn't match us. It was just our finishing, even from usually highly reliable players like Gunston and Bruester, and not just in the last quarter, that prevented us from winning that by 15+ goals.

Easily Hodge & Lewy's best game against the Cats since the 08 Flag.

Stevie J proving once again, what a sad arsed of a sore & sorry loser he & his Cats really are!....Zero Class Mr 'Cheap-Shot'!

How much better a side we look when Hodge is fit & firing & playing in the Guts, where he belongs!

Frawley was great I reckon, and will only improve. Think of the absolute basket case club he was at for so long, getting taught that to lose by less than 10 goals was an achievement............only makes sense he will take some time to adjust to our game plan AND get used to winning.

Question - does anyone know if Frawley has ever played in a winning team against the Kitties before yesterday?

I loved that little tacker jumping out of the way of Rough as he stormed towards goal............gold. I know it was his first game, however, all players play a first game at some stage and I can't remember anyone jumping out the way like he did.

Mitchell, Hodge, Burgoyne............all look as fresh as and as though they are still hungry. Good signs.

Very optimistic for a great year after yesterday. Awesome.

Even just after the start of the game you can see him have a whack at Hodgy, who was lying on the ground, as he ran past. The way the media fawn over that guy is embarrassing.

No he had not. 8 games for 8 losses.

He's also winless against Hawthorn, North Melbourne & St Kilda.

Cheers Mog.
Never beaten North nor the Saints? Wow. Amazing stats. The Saints one will def change this year, and too, hopefully those pesky Roos.

I guess all our boys bar the 08 flag members wouldn't have played in a winning side against the Cats until the 13 prelim. Funny when you think about it. What was that, 10 games?

I know the Blues will beat us again one day, but gee I reckon it will be a ways off. Can't wait to play them.

Cheers again.

Poor guy is going to remain winless against hawthorn for his entire career.

But that also applies to hodge and mitchelll and lewis and roughead etc etc

Drove past a few newsagents today, those wire frame things that they put out to advertise the newspapers* all said, "2015 HAWKS LOOK SCARY", did make me smile :D

*what are those things called?
They only had those cages around those headlines because even they are deadly dangerous.

I'm sure they've all been on the right end of an intraclub at some stage ;)

I think he can thank Sammy for doing "the right thing"
I herd hin on radio last night saying it "was just a light bump, and didn't hurt much"

Sammy was all class, despite having every reason to tell the truth.
Stratton and Langford were both gracious last year, after being on the end of Hawkin's thuggery.

Wonder how the Cat players would respond if the shoe was ever on the other foot...

They say they didn't dive when they did.

It looks like Shiels won't be playing next week, Clarko said Shiels had tightness in the hammy, will have it scanned tomorrow,as usual Clarko another player will replace him.:)

Not sure there are any other options;)
