Im sure there is half a dozen players being seriously looked at. Clarko and Wright would know that a player saying 100% they are coming means they are maybe 75% coming.

As for our offer for Patton. I think we find a way to get Pick 76. Offer that to GWS. See if they can get someone better than Mitchell Lewis with a late draft pick, given all they know is how to spend top 20 draft picks.

It looks like Coniglio was never going to be a free hit for us.
GWS clearly had the ability to match, and they would have made us trade for him. If we're going to trading, there are better fits for the team than Coniglio.
I'd be happy if we make some small trades, pick up some minor free agents, and go after Whitfield next year.

Cogs is not a player that produces consistent performances to warrant that amount of coin. NEXT!

Still think we are on the right track with the players we have brought in last couple years, the youngsters that have developed and I am looking forward to our next crop of players who have shown plenty for BH to be given an opportunity particularly Ross, Jones and Walker. Go Hawks.

Tom Brown is simultaneously always right and always wrong, depending on which point on the timeline you wish to view his statements at, as he usually covers the full gamut of outcomes during any reporting period as "definitely happening'.

Fellas, I would like to wholeheartedly apologise to our great and loyal fans for my clearly now, incorrect information. I was just as excited as the rest of us with the information I was receiving stating that he had confirmed a want to represent the Hawthorn Football Club so I sincerely apologise for giving lots of our fans what may be deemed as false hope.
I corroborated my info with a few much more respected and longer posters than myself on this forum and everything was matching up.

In terms of the events of tonight, there is no doubt that high ranking club officials of ours were lied to, including the most important off field official in our club. There is no doubt that AFL HQ have manipulated the system by driving the price of this new contract for Coniglio up by way of ‘payments’ outside the salary cap and there is absolutely no doubt that the HFC will continue to move forward and will taste much more success in the near future.
Heads up again boys and again I am really really sorry. I am as disappointed as the rest of you.

On a side note, abasi apologies in advance my friend and if this deems a suspension so be it:
fu** Carlton FC and their rotten to the core organisation, the laughing stock of football in this country and a true modern day basket case.

About three years ago, I was told AC and GW we’re targeting some of these players to fast track our development and recovery from losing our midfield guns ( which was imminent) , those names were:

O’Meara
Wingard
Mitchell
Kelly
Shiel
Coniglio
Whitfield
Crouch.
To think we’ve landed 3 of them, missed out on the other 3 with two pending is a brilliant effort!
If we land one of whit/ crouch then we would have absolutely managed something no other club could, re-vitalise our midfield stocks with elite talent without bottoming out for 6-7 years!
There will be more news regarding hawthorn in the next couple weeks both in the form of players let go and ones we’re after . Stay tight.

At no point did I make up a fanciful story where absolutely everything falls our way to farm likes from a group of emotionally invested posters, then come in to reassure everyone it's already done, lock it in, blah blah.

I even questioned some of this 'FACT!!!' which was utter rubbish.

This crap I take exception to mate. I’ll ask you a few things:

How was my story made up?
What makes you think it was to gain likes?
Why was it utter rubbish?

What makes you certain of all this? I couldn’t give a stuff what you think but I don’t think it’s right to start slinging mud at a fellow supporter so explain to me why in order to try and defend yourself, are you giving it to me in a very subtle but weak way?
