I don't know..but he was right behind Nank.Surely, he's a stauncher ally of Sam's than Nank's! Thus, would take a role to help out Sam rather than spite Andy.
Why would Lewis even be closely aligned with Nank anyway?
As have I. Unfortunately it results in some deadshit people getting fairly important roles, otherwise I might admire it.
This is exactly what Ash was saying.Oh it’s not always a good thing - but the influence is real. As someone whose a product of the public school system, in a different state no less, it’s not something I’m overly fond of. However if Gowers has the ear of the top brass then I’m happy for it to work in our favour in this instance.
Hopefully Jordan is chairing it.The appointment has been referred to an independent nominations committee.

I'm not the biggest Facebook fan, but something about the Hawks popped up regarding the AGM, and the comments appeared 90% pro Kennett.I stumbled upon an interview with Mathew Berryman on SEN this afternoon from last week, where he outlined that the election was “being driven by ego(gowers)” and was saying that it should’ve been more about who was the right person to be president.
I am beyond perplexed at how oblivious and completely unaware those backing Nankivell were to the feeling toward the current board and Jeff amongst members.
Vanders too, clearly oblivious.
How did they not pick up the discontent from members at all? How did they misread the membership base so poorly that they thought that sending those emails out sidelining the candidates was going to sit well?
And most of all, how were they so unaware that they were going to be the kiss of death for Nankivell no matter how qualified he was, when there was such a strong undercurrent of displeasure with the boards reluctance to speak up or be known as anything other than Jeff’s board who nominated one of their own?
I’m just completely dumbfounded, perhaps even angry on Nankivell’s behalf, that they ruined his run at the presidency by being so ignorant of the climate he was going to be asked to navigate.
The only chance he ever stood would have been if he’d distanced himself from Jeff and all of his actions over the last 12 months the moment he got a chance to speak, and only then outlined why he was the right man for the job.
I couldn’t agree more.Competent yes, necessary no !!

Ego. Plain and simple. They thought they were better and knew better than anyone else. Too much time at the top and not willing to listen to the membership base. Glad it’s moving in a new direction
Saw it as well but it seemed like it was more anti-Merlino than pro-Jeff. A lot of absolute cookers posting on it, I wouldn't be surprised if most of them weren't even Hawthorn fans, instead they were just anti-labor fans.I'm not the biggest Facebook fan, but something about the Hawks popped up regarding the AGM, and the comments appeared 90% pro Kennett.
It was pretty uninformed and general ranting. Typical Facebook rabble carrying on like pork chops, and it could have been any one of a million random topics. I was surprised at the attitudes and responses, even more so that they could be from Hawks people. It's FB though, what should i have expected? Nevertheless, it IS the source of club news for some people.
Such a contrast to the intelligent, informed, often humorous info shared here. Sure its moderated for starters, but bullshit gets called, and very often inside info or insight is imparted.
I read from this site if I want Hawk or footy news, but we are only a small fraction of Hawks members and supporters.
I can easy see how many people, in their various bubbles of existence are naive of what's going 9n, or are just so rusted onto their cause as to be willfully ignorant.
As it should be. Good governance involves a proper process and transparency. Kennett preached good governance but it appeared the democratic process was more honoured in the breach than the observance. The appointment has been referred to an independent nominations committee.
A good rule of thumb is to avoid those pages at all costs. The amount of calls to “sack Sam Mitchell” after every loss last year makes me worried about the collective iq of a chunk of our base.I'm not the biggest Facebook fan, but something about the Hawks popped up regarding the AGM, and the comments appeared 90% pro Kennett.

From the outside it looks like Jeff had insulated himself by running a boys club with only yes man around him.I stumbled upon an interview with Mathew Berryman on SEN this afternoon from last week, where he outlined that the election was “being driven by ego(gowers)” and was saying that it should’ve been more about who was the right person to be president.

Facebook comments are full of part time supporters. People who couldn’t even name a Box Hill player.A good rule of thumb is to avoid those pages at all costs. The amount of calls to “sack Sam Mitchell” after every loss last year makes me worried about the collective iq of a chunk of our base.

I mean apart from ownership model or something how else did he want them to do itThe bloke on Hawks Insiders talking about the Popular vote was a genuine knob
Loved the sound of his own voice, had no clue

and he keeps going on about governance and transparency. He must have a different definition on what they mean. He was paid by Coles to do 'independent' work. But it seems everyone else is wrong and should listen to him. There is a a lot of common traits in everything he does. Has ever doneColes supermarket, Jeff Kennett slammed by government grocery reviewer
The supermarket watchdog has slammed former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett, in his role as an arbiter between Coles and its suppliers, for "flawed" decision-making and failing to comply with its directions.www.abc.net.au
Kennett suppressing things again. Classic.

Deactivating Facebook was one of the best things I have ever done. Instagram has some nuffies but it's nowhere near the level of Facebook.
