Correct. For reference below, once the HFC had the report outlining serious allegations they were duty bound by the AFL’s protocol to hand over the report to the AFL integrity unit.

This is a governance failure at the highest level.

He needs to own this and publicly hold himself to account for the failure to provide these men with adequate support.

The AFL also must review what resources they provide clubs in this area and act accordingly. Token gestures just don’t cut it.

My initial reaction was to stop my membership, but current players and staff that will be connected to this unfairly don't deserve to lose my support.

All staff responsible need to explain themselves, completely. And that's just the start. Unforgivable.

I've expressed my personal disgust on this board before in regards to Chris Fagan, and have only ever received some jibes back, such as 'Wouldn't he pick you' etc etc.

Well, I am not surprised at these alleged stand over tactics at all, as I have experienced this type of behavior from Mr Fagan first hand. Not to this extreme extent mind you, but I'm not as shocked as some of you seem to be here.

My hatred for Fagan is so strong that I barracked for Geelong last week! Can't stand the bloke, and this certainly won't be changing my opinion of him.

Maliciously? No. If he thought he was doing the right thing for them? Yes. That's what makes this all so insidious, I assume they were doing it because they felt they knew what was best for the players and not out of malice. "Tyranny sincerely exercised" and all that.

I don't know Clarkson personally so who knows what he's capable of, are there people out there like that? Sure is.

This is where the player anonymity becomes tricky. At the very least dates are important to know exactly who was involved, knew or should have known to ensure full accountability. But those details will identify the players

The roles of Clarkson and Fagan as senior coaches are untenable. Kennett obviously needs to go for a variety of reasons but it may be these particular incidents occurred under another president’s tenure (whose current role elsewhere must also become untenable). There are a number of other former assistant coaches and club administrators elsewhere who could have some questions asked of them depending on when these events happened.

I just shared the story about Leigh Matthews being dead serious in telling players not to have sex in December so they wouldn’t ruin finals with a birth of a child. Obviously some coaches and officials have a weird take on what they’re allowed to demand of players.

I’d like to think people that pathological weren’t at our club - but unfortunately humans can be very bloody odd so you never know.

You would think that after the Cyril saga, people would have learnt to be a bit more patient and see how things play out before making outlandish statements.

I'm sure there are some truths in this article, but there also seems to be some pretty far fetched parts. Like they say, there are multiple sides you a story and the truth is usually somewhere in between.

As for Clarko and Fagan then that's up to their respective clubs and the AFL.

My anger clouded my thoughts. Doubtful Jeff was there when this happened.
