You are one of my favourite posters but there is not a bone in clarko's body that would have thought this given his history.

I highly suspect the fact Nash and a few others that played were with a view to the future but there is no way known he didn't think we could win.

I honestly thought the 3 inclusions were the weirdest I can recall.

They made no sense to me at all and wreaked of panic.

I had a chat with someone today and asked about the Omeara injury to be told, he would of played with a few more days rest and if you watch the Tigers game closely he was running out the game well.

I can’t understand in a cut throat Final if it was touch and go then why we didn’t roll the dice on one of our most important players.

Very very strange.

Why would Doc get a game? Was it a farewell?

Why on a dry night did we drop our second tall (Ceglar) when a week earlier we played them together on a wet night?

So many crazy selections that had me baffled before the game.

There is no scenario where losing a final is more beneficial to a football club than winning one.

I agree, but then a lot of people credit the 2012 lost GF as inspiration for our 3-peat.

Yeah It's all rather bizarre the team selection I agree, you feel as Jaeger only didn't play because of his injury history and Clarko thinking even if we win we can't win the flag.

at local grand final today and was told by a HFC employee that’s what’s expected, as reliable as can be but I suppose until it happens you still doubt it.

The person I chatted with today when I asked how we have recovered since Friday was rather philosophical in his response when he said “mate we kicked poorly, dominated the second qtr smashed them inside 50s, however when you lose two games to the Brisbane Lions during the year we were lucky to be playing in the second week of the Finals”

Perhaps as a club we just were not really ready for a big Finals campaign and some of our planning/decision making reflected this!!!!!

Clarko and the match committee must have had valid reasons, and obviously thought we could have won the game. I think Clarko pointed out, in the second quarter when we kicked 0 -6 while they added 3 - 1 was when we should have put score board pressure on them. If Breust's non-mark and Gunner's simple miss went our way we might have won, so calling Un Hawthorn is a bit over the top, I would think.

If he legitimately thought we could go all the way they would of risked jaeger.

I think they got a fair idea after the Richmond game where a bit of the mark
and coached accordingly to keep the games close while still trying to win of course.
Is it possible to land may,wingard,cogs 3 players across all lines would really make us a contender. A priority for a fwd over a defender is a must but we might have to trade for one with lynch out of the question.
