Re: Haysman Bruised

But, why? What is it about our situation where as part of the AFL funding or AO deal comes with an agreement for our CEO to leave? What has/hasn't Haysman done? REH has had face-to-face meetings with him. Have others here had any of these meetings? What are we missing here? What don't we know?

Are there issues we, as "normal" supporters, haven't been made aware of? From the outside, during Haysman's time, haven't we made positive steps financially? Haven't we "grown the pie"?

I just don't get it.

I don't get it either. But Rucci keeps talking about the DoM's and their want of a scapegoat at Port. Whether or not he's turned us around off-field is meaningless to them. They just want a big scalp from Port and blame Haysie for all of their pathetic ills.

Re: Haysman Bruised

BULLSHIT!!!!

Very, very dissapointing. I am very worried about who is going to be brought in and what their agenda will be.

Who will this new CEO be accountable to given that they have not been selected by the board?

Their agenda will be whatever Leigh Whicker, Phil Gallagher and the 8 SANFL club CEO's tell them it will be.

Re: Haysman Bruised

What's worrying is that the SANFL completely ignored the findings of their independent forensic accountant and sought to knife Haysman in a bid to cut even more costs despite our low spending and our $2.5m turnaround this year.

They also wanted us to spend the Foundation Fund.

If we do get an arselicking, scumsucking guttercrawler forced upon us as CEO, what guarantees do we get that we won't essentially be paralysed and liquidated from within like one of those unfortunate caterpillars that has a run-in with a wasp?

Re: Haysman Bruised

....Meanwhile, pathetic Steven Trigg, a man who doesn't know the meaning of the word "work", a man who's been riding on the coat tails of our CEO's hard work for the past few years, a man who runs a club with 50,000 members and 70-80% of the state behind it and still manages to turn a $1-2m loss.........keeps his job.

Triggy, there's a reason you've been in that same shitty job for forever and a day. It's because you're shit and nobody in their right mind would hire you to run their business. If you were worth a pinch of shit you'd have been headhunted years ago.

Re: Haysman Bruised

I wish they'd have introduce this new schmuck that's going to be CEO at the members night last night. He would have been pummeled by the crowd with rotten vegetables.

Shame on you SANFL

Re: Haysman Bruised

It does say AFl appointee also.

If the AFL wanted to appoint someone into the position I wouldn't mind. The SANFL must tread carefully here however, they do risk alienating aot of us Port supporters

Re: Haysman Bruised

If the SANFL are behind it and appoint someone from 'within', then you can see it as them making sure they try to protect the cash cow and not lose the AFL license.

Just another day in paradise.

Re: Haysman Bruised

I have a feeling that this will still work out for the better - Haysie has been great, but the AFL are not going to allow an SNAFL goon to screw Port over again. Maybe I am placing too much trust in Vlad, but he is a man who doesn't seem to throw away money on lost causes...

There is a bigger game at play here, and we can only guess at the inside workings - and in a strategy battle I would back the AFL every time.

Re: Haysman Bruised

Sounds like we're back to where we were the night of the coup.

This time by stealth.

I fear Alberton may soon make the streets of Athens seem like the gay and lesbian mardi-gras !

AD was asked on '5 double-crow w***er show' tonite re a new CEO - he said any decision is up to the Port Board nothing to do with the AFL and is not a condition of the rescue package! If SANFL put one of their dogs in, we should march on AAMI!!!!

I can see the 2 smug slugs smiling already! BASTAAARDS!

No wonder Willy Wonka Whicker sounded happy tonite about the rescue package knowing the 'DoMs' have won!

Port boss Mark Haysman to go in days as club secures financial stability

MARK Haysman will resign as Port Adelaide Football Club chief executive within days and is expected to return to the brewing industry.

Haysman, 43, will be seen as a "scapegoat" of the negotiations between the SANFL and AFL that yesterday delivered a $12 million revival package for the Power and Crows from the two leagues. But Haysman had refused to declare his intention to leave the Power until its long-term sustainability was secured in AFL-SANFL talks.

Norwood premiership player and former radio executive Keith Thomas has already been touted as his replacement. Haysman joined Port from SA Brewing in October 2008. He is understood to already have the chance to return to a management position in the brewing industry.

I'm a life long Port Adelaide supporter, people come & go, but my club remains, and so will I.

We've had the upheavals, Geof Motley, Fos Williams, Brian Cunningham, Russell Ebert, Bruce Weber, John Cahill, Mark Williams, all were major headaches, but it wont change my support.
