How does a gun player going to Geelong have anything to do with Shaw?
Shaw may be a dickhead, but he is also a quality premiership, defender. He was considered elite in 2011. Question is whether a change of environment will enable him to rekindle that form, or whether he is past it. Clubs would be hoping Heath will do a Rhys.

Chappy was keeping Murdoch and Smedts out of the side. Shaw would come in to replace Varcoe as a line-breaking half-back/midfielder (if it's true that Travis is leaving).

Not on what both have shown, particularly Smedts. For all the hype that comes out of the club about him and from other supporters, I've only seen tiny glimpses. Yes he's young but I thought there might be a bit more with the way people are talking about him.

Unfortunately... Channel 7 Sport just reported that the cats are front runners for Heath Shaw...
Thankfully you look safe. 4mil/5years from GWS the media reckon as per other threads. Hope he enjoys it. I didn't want him near my own club, either.

Suits Pies fans too. It probably wont happen unless Taylor Adams is part of the deal. Shaw wont go to a top eight club. Fans of the the top eight clubs dont want him. Cats wont tget Shaw or Adams.

Win-win-win situation.

He's off to carlingwood, one of 5 clubs to offer him yet. This is getting pretty funny, lol.

Funny as in "how stupid and gullible are you" kind of funny?

I must have missed the games he played this season where he 'starred'

His best year was 2010, still a good player but nowhere near a great player anymore. His legs are shot, struggles to provide the run out of defence like he used to and has definetly lost a couple of yards in the pace department.

His legs aren't shot, he has been playing deeper in defence and playing on better players that need attention and you can't run off. We don't play a spare defender anymore, in 2010 we did so Shaw and Harry could run off their player and not worry

LOL, when did this happen? He hasn't lost any of his pace at all.

Ranked 1st in Bounces 2013 = Legs are shot, by that logic Daisy wont play an AFL game ever again.

You kooky Carlton supporters. Not everything is about Daisy, you know.

Exactly , can not stand his petulant attitude but he is a perfect candidate for a fresh start and reap the rewards situation . Guys like him with a very short fuse and attention span often are motivated by a new challenge . He responded well after his discretions and although the is a dickhead at times he plays with heart and if that can be channeled for a few years with even a couple of hiccups the lucky club who gets him will benefit . Mutually beneficial !

people forget that heater will be 29 next year so logically only a side in their window would consider it (gws aside).

also, how many clubs are really that desperate for a half back flanker?

finally, integrating into a different club culture coming from the brat pack with a history of insubordination will be a factor.

i'm genuinely shocked that there appears to be interest in his services unless it was for a minimum chips deal with late round compensation for collingwood.

Maybe the smarter footballing minds have more of an idea than you on what he's worth. I don't think what I just said would genuinely shock anyone.

Says the guy who just signed dale up for 4 years.

The rat pack membership didn't stop one club paying $700 k per season for one of their members..
F---> that gives me a laugh this morning and the bloke who posted it is down as club legend? christ that is even funnier.
He obviously sees no parallels between Thomas and Shaw.

People who keep going on about him being 29 are clearly trolls. He will play all next years season while he is 28. Dale Thomas will play as a 27 year old next year 1 year younger. He must be in his prime because he has a 4-5 year deal at your club with a bung ankle, on more money then any other player at your club.

since when was stating a fact, trolling?
