Whats the latest with your mob doon? what stage are they at with the league transfer, surely the HDFL wouldnt let them go with out a fight! Or are they already thinking about another club that has already approached the vcfl in expressing interested in entering the HD in 2009 or 2010.

Unsure mate, meeting tonight so should know more afterwards. No point the HDFL fighting it because the young blokes have made their minds up and will go elsewhere as opposed to play HDFL - so I doubt it's in anyone's interest to field one HDFL side (we'd have no 2nds or 3rds), as thats what would happen.

Whatever way people voted, emotions and opinions have been put aside Im told and everyone is united to making this work - but again will know more tonight

Nothing is ever on the cards after a break, always return from the Sunshine Coast wanting to pack up and move staight back up there - will weigh up whats best for me, Sarah and the kids but yeah keen to still do something football related.

I see colbo are getting lights capable of playing night football (they got a 60K grant from the govt and have to match it through labour etc so 120K lights). I think night footy would be a great thing for HDFL footy and would pull a decent crowd too. Hopefully the league schedules some night games next year.

Elmore have good lights (except deep in the pockets) and LBU holds under 14s night games. A friday night game between a Elmore v LBU, Elmore v Colbo, Colbo v Mounts would attract big support.

I did hear the Hayes to Wedderburn rumour over the weekend. The only other one that I could think of would be Daniel Bevan. He was injured for a fair chunk of the season and may be looking for a change.
I think they're pretty safe with most of the others, but this is the silly season so everyone is stirring the pot to see what rise they can get. Until they run out in April, don't count anyone as a dead certainty.

How much money to Wedderburn have? Faveleaki went for some big dollars I heard and Hayes would be the same. You wouldnt put yourself out for a similar return and I would have thought Elmore would have paid him well anyway.
I dont think Elmore would be overly keen on losing a 100 goal kicker and may have to dig into their considerable purse to retain him if correct.

I think what Bond might be trying to say is that he played in Colbo's win, probably started on the bench, spent a fair bit of the day on the pine and didn't have much of an influence on the outcome. But, at the end of the day he has a premiership medal to hang his hat on but let's hope he doesn't keep carrying on about it because he was only a bit player. In fact, he was probably responsible for Jake Weppner not getting a game. Am I close Bond?

If Jake Weppner didnt get a game it would be because he wasnt good enough.

They may have got funding based on not letting the Premier leave until he pencilled in the grant. If they held him hostage for a day instead of a few hours they may have been able to get a stadium in Colbo.

Am I in some sort of time warp? Put some names out there dropkick and give these blokes a chance to defend themselves. I was near the Locky blokes for the seconds and all they did was have some fun, nothing untoward was said to any player.

Can't say that i saw the Locky boys doing too much wrong. Sure they had a few beers and made some noise (which i thought was great) but they weren't causing trouble or starting fights like i have seen at many other Grand Finals over the years. Can't comment on the Heathcote people because i am not aware of who they are.

They were probably Jacobs former teamates from the Borough that were bagging him. That's how popular he ended up at that club!! How would he know Heathcote people?

I was standing near the locky blokes with my kids until just after the start of the seniors and had to move in disgust their language and what they were saying to some of the colbo blokes when they were warming up was nothing short of disgusting. and lets not forget about the fight they had with another group about an hour after the game in where the police were called.
