Heard today from a reliable source that fev has a broken nose thanks to one A Grant, Can you confirm this Bloodhound?

Sounds like bluey has the boys firing but june is a little early for the bloods to self distruct, they usually do it around september.

Move along people ... There's nothing to see here

That's great you simpleton, putting the great RWB on the blockhead. Have you been brave enough to reveal your identity to all your White Hills 'mates' yet. Just letting you know, won't be there at the footy, refuse to go anywhere you are. Saints by 5 goals.
RWB......dont no who the bully is but i hope the game is closer than 5 goals have a fair bit or respect for the president and is family and watch closely on the legue tranfers list in the next couple of weeks....... had some close mail.......move over mounts:D:D:D

Ghost, sounds like you've got some ripper goss. Care to enlighten some more? Saw a couple of old faces at the game on Saturday that would certainly be handy inclusions for the second half of the season. Hey was that Darren Gaspar at the game on Saturday?? Why would he be there??:D:D;)

Believe me ghost, I'm hoping it's five goals and will be watching transfers lists very closely:thumbsu:

Effective Roos too slick

by Matt Nicholls

OVERALL effectiveness with the football was the key factor in Broadford’s telling victory over Heathcote on Saturday.
In perfect conditions at Harley Hammond Reserve, the Roos made the most of their opportunities to win by 17-points.
To borrow a common terminology used in football circles these days, Heathcote “butchered” the ball on far too many occasions to win the match.
Bad kicking is bad football and when the Saints failed to capitalise on their early game dominance, you knew the Roos would make them pay.
Heathcote held a nine-point lead at quarter time, with the rotating ruck/centre-half-forward combination of playing coach Alistair Meldrum and 17-year-old Lech Featherstone providing headaches for Broadford’s defence.
However, the Saints failed to deliver on the scoreboard and should have led by four goals.
While the game ebbed and flowed after quarter time, you could quickly see the match turning Broadford’s way.
The classy disposal of former Kilmore star John Rowe, mostly from half-back, was instrumental in setting up the Roos.
Veteran Adrian Wilson was his usual best, dominating around the stoppages.
While Broadford skipper Chris Dunne was effective in the first three quarters, he didn’t really show his best football until the last term, when Daniel Fletcher and James Edwards stood tall.

Taylor any good with 6???

I'd like to know how many of the 6 he kicked from free kicks?
I had a certain person tell me the free kick count was 25/5 in Broadfords favour. Doona, what did your stats say because if it is true, not only is it outrageous, it would appear the home ground advantage may be alive and well!!! I have stated that I was not at the game so Doona, Scottywok etc., your views please. (The count was done by a bloke who has done it for a long time, so they would be fairly accurate I would think)

The umpiring was Broadford favoured no doubt. A couple of goal umpiring decisions were very Broadford-biased, but there is no way the free kick count was 25-5.

If there was 30 frees paid I'm guessing it would have been closer to 19-11.

I don't think they changed the result either.

One i think mr hdfs, 5 from marks on the lead and as nicholls stated tayls does quite ok for a bloke we got to play across half forward and not deep in the square.

My stats had the free kick count 31-22 our way at the end of the day. Umpires never have a say lets be honest, and u can never take much outa a person using that as an excuse. Both side slaughtered the footy at times, Broadford perhaps not as much i dunno

North got 11 more free's than us the day they beat us but never once did the umps have a baring on that outcome, 2nd to footy we were that day just as the saints were at times on the weekend.

Will finish going thru the tape tonight and will ammend this if it's wrong.

Good comments Doona, one thing i would like to ask u did the umpire's come in before the game to both side's and say they will not be paying free kick's for hand's in the back.If so what is your comment on that:thumbsu:

tayles was ok. As Doona said previously looked dangerous every time he went near it. He has nothing on the bloke who played at the opposite end however. Something tells me it won't be long before he has some big goal games. More goalkicking for the saints this week at training and he might blow a few teams away shortly. PICKLES noticed you gave Daniel Carrol a fair spary. i.e EXPLOITED HIS DEFENSIVE CAPABILITIES.. What a JOKE!!!! Carrol is a key link up man and uses the ball well.. The amount of forays he stops into the forward line, through his courage and and sometimes spectacular marking, are second to none.

Furthermore, down on his standards. Are 30 touches not enough for you. Perhaps at Romsey 40-50 touches were not uncommon??

I don't know who does the stats for the mob at Barrack Reserve but there is no way Bung had 30 touches. Everyone at the game commented that Edwards gave Carroll a toweling after quarter time.

His work ethic was there but when he was basically tagged out of the game should have been thrown on the ball or up forward to change things up in my opinion. Bung plays his best when he can be creative and doesn't have to worry about an opponent, similar to Andrew McLeod.

When the ball was turned over, how often did Edwards get free and make Carroll look like a goose? Probably 5 or 6 times.

Its a shame the Saints didn't kick straight earlier, would have made it a much better game.

Agree with the accuracy comment. Think you'll find he played all of the final quarter on ball. Perhaps Edwards did get it a few times on the rebound but that is hardly bungs fault when his teamates execution lets them and the team down after he has beaten and ran off his opponent in the first place.

Also Al may have been a little down, but fitness is not the cause. I know for a fact he is posting close to his best times in certain running tests. Being the coach of a very young list is tough and while his own form may have been down, his leadership, encouragement and his communication skills have been more than impressive.

I wasn't really having a crack at anyone from Heathcote in the paper, but as you can appreciate, The Free Press goes to Romsey and people there want to know how their former favourite sons are traveling. I've seen Al in peak form and fitness and no offence to Al but he isn't at his best at the moment. He is doing a fantastic job thus far as his first year as coach and to have the side in 3rd spot is a testament to his hard work. He speaks very well and has the respect of his players.

There is no doubt Al will get better as the season goes on. But I think he only took one or two contested marks for the day. But did a good job in the ruck.

Fair enough, always a problem when you are second to the pill. I reckon that's why tackling can be a misleading stat at times because the first thing it means is that you haven't got control of the obect. Don't know about Umpies never have a say, ask the great man Richo about that fifty..........

be interesting to see if the BIG UMP, RWB and Hill bully catch up this weekend. I hear RWB might just destroy hill bully and the big ump on the VB's and VRB's (later in the night) if he can keep the thumb print off his head long enough...:D:D:D

Once again, there is no thumb print. I have never met the Hill Bully and it is no great prize drinking the Ump under at the footy, he generally has done that to himself by half time.:D
